Chapter 414
“Gavin, this is the last time I’m warning you. Vickie is my fiancée, and she’ll be the only woman I ever marry. If you dare bother her again, I won’t hesitate to make sure you’re gone for good. I mean every word,” Jackson said.
He was usually calm and collected, rarely losing his temper, but this time was different. Even though his voice stayed low. the fury and authority behind it were impossible to ignore.
Jackson’s dark eyes held a chilling depth, so intense it felt like they could swallow one whole. It sent shivers down anyone’s spine.
After that, Jackson turned to the security guards. “Hold him until the police get here.”
“Yes, noted,” the guards replied, quickly moving in to restrain Gavin.
This time, Gavin didn’t put up a fight. Victoria’s words and the way her eyes burned with loathing kept replaying in his mind.
Everyone watching was so overwhelmed by Jackson’s presence that they didn’t even dare to breathe loudly.
The crowd was stunned by Jackson’s commanding presence. Nobody made a sound, and even their breathing was cautious and quiet. They all watched in silence, afraid to catch Jackson’s eye.
Jackson looked up at Victoria, and the coldness on his face melted into a gentle warmth. He spoke softly, “Vickie, let’s go.”
Gavin, pinned by the guards, opened his mouth to speak, but Victoria’s frosty stare shut him down. The words were dying on his lips.
Victoria nodded, refusing to even glance at Gavin again, and followed Jackson toward the elevator without hesitation.
“Honestly, a proper ex should just vanish like he never existed; dead to his ex and never bothering her again,” someone muttered.
“Seriously, how shameless can he get? He actually showed up to yell at Mr. Thornton! He broke up with her but keeps clinging on, and even had her new boyfriend deliver a birthday gift for him. That guy’s got issues,” another person chimed in.
“I heard he’s a spoiled rich boy. If he weren’t loaded, someone would’ve beaten him up already!” someone else scoffed.
“Ms. Binder really went easy on him with that slap! If it were me, I’d have slapped him ten times over!” another person said. “He probably thinks he’s some lovesick hero, but honestly, that’s just straight-up harassment in her eyes!” someone else added.
Gavin listened to all the harsh gossip swirling around him, his eyes glued to Victoria’s back as she walked away with Jackson toward the executive elevator. It felt like she was slipping further and further out of his reach.
Maybe this really is the last time I’ll ever try to reach out to her, Gavin thought bitterly.
Before long, the police arrived. Normally, something this minor wouldn’t even get a second glance, but since Jackson was involved, they took Gavin down to the station for a verbal warning, made him write a written reflection, and called the Fairbank family to come pick him up.
Back in Jackson’s office, the door closed behind them. Jackson took Victoria’s hand and pulled her into his arms. One arm

wrapped firmly around her waist, holding her close, while his other hand gently cupped her cheek.
Victoria was caught off guard, suddenly pressed against Jackson’s chest. The faint scent of cedar and lingering medicine on him enveloped her, surrounding her in a space filled only with his warmth and presence.
Her fingers instinctively clutched the fabric of his shirt behind him, and the heat of his body sent her heart racing
Jackson leaned in, his nose almost brushing hers, his voice low and dangerous. “Vickie. I won’t let Gavin bother you ever again.” His warm breath washed over her lips, tinged with a cool mint scent.
Victoria couldn’t help but laugh softly, her fingertips caressing his cheek. I’ve already said everything I needed to. If Gavin shows up again, just do whatever you want with him. It’s just explaining things to the Fairbank family might get tricky.”
Jackson’s eyes instantly darkened, his grip on her waist tightening. His voice was rough, edged with coldness. “Let them try If they can’t control their own, I’ll take care of it myself”
Then he looked at Victoria, his gaze burning, his lips almost brushing her soft lips. “Vickie, when you said you liked me right in front of Gavin, do you know how happy that made me?”
Victoria tilted her head up, her fingers tracing his brow as she watched him, looking so pleased with himself.
“If I didn’t like you, why would I want to be with you? Honestly, at first, it was because you were so handsome, and I admired how you stayed strong even after everything you went through.
“But now, I really do like you.” She purposely softened her voice for that last line, letting the words curl up at the end like a little hook; playful, almost inviting.
Jackson’s breath grew heavier, and he gave her lips a teasing, punishing bite. “Knowing is one thing, but hearing you say it out loud, especially in front of everyone, just makes me ridiculously happy.
“So, go on. Tell me more,” he coaxed.
Victoria laughed. “And then, when I was treating you, and you never complained, no matter how much it hurt… I thought…” Her voice softened to a whisper. “This guy, he’s mine.”
Jackson’s pupils narrowed suddenly, and in the next moment, he claimed her lips in a fierce, hungry kiss, as if he wanted to swallow up every word she’d just spoken. His kiss left Victoria gasping for breath, her fingers threading through his thick, dark hair.
When they finally broke apart, both breathless, Jackson pressed his forehead to hers.
“Vickie, from the first time you gave me acupuncture, when your fingers touched the scars on my leg, and you didn’t even hesitate or look away in disgust, I knew I wanted to keep you by my side forever.”
“Okay, that’s enough kissing for now. Let’s grab some food and get your treatment started,” Victoria said, gently pushing Jackson’s chest and slipping out of his arms.
If they kept going like this, they’d be tempted to just jump into bed, but they couldn’t do that yet. It’d just make it even harder to hold back.
After they finished eating, Victoria started getting ready for Jackson’s treatment Jackson suddenly remembered their chat from last night and asked, “Vickie, did you dream about me last night?”
Victoria let out a playful laugh. “Yeah, I did.”
Jackson raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued. “Oh? What did you dream about me!
