Chapter 419
Chapter 419
Victoria knew what Curtis really meant by that text; she could read him like a book. He was pretty much binding come to the airport and see him and Julia off
But Victoria didn’t reply to Curtis.
Victoria decided not to hold onto her resentment toward Curtis and julia, but that didn’t mean she was rearly to forgive them. For her, the best choice was to part ways and never see each other again.
After finishing her morning routine, Victoria went downstairs for breakfast, still in her pajamas. When the walked into the dining room, Daisy was already at the table.
“Where’s Dad?” Victoria asked as she sat down.
Daisy explained, “There was an issue with some equipment at Binder Medical. Your dad left for the office in a hurry at three in the morning.”
Equipment problem?’ Victoria thought, her brows furrowed. ‘Is Steven behind this?
Daisy hesitated for a moment before finally asking, “Victoria, do you know Curtis is leaving with his mom today?”
Victoria snapped out of her thoughts. “Yeah, he came to see me the day before yesterday.”
Daisy sighed. “After everything that happened to Curtis’s family, maybe moving abroad is the best thing for them. I just hope he and Julia can finally settle down and stop stirring up drama.”
Daisy didn’t ask Victoria if she wanted to go to the airport to see them off. To Daisy, Victoria not holding a grudge against Curtis’s family anymore was already more than enough,
Since it was Saturday, Daisy didn’t want to ruin Victoria’s mood so early in the morning, so she changed the subject.

Victoria’s eyes lit up. “Awesome!”
After breakfast, Victoria went back upstairs to check out her outfit. The coat was a long cashmere overcoat in a misty blue hue, made from premium cashmere that draped elegantly,
The hem danced lightly with every step, and the cuffs were lined with a row of pearl buttons; luxury in the most understated
way.
Underneath, she found a sheer black lace turtleneck layered over a nude silk lining, keeping her warm while hinting at the graceful curve of her collarbone. Around her neck, a delicate diamond collarbone chain added just the right touch of sparkle.
Daisy had put a lot of thought into the accessories: beige fingerless gloves, a silver metal-frame clutch, and diamond snowflake studs twinkling among her hair strands, shimmering like starlight under the lamp.

She turned and walked out to the hallway, leaning over the railing and calling down. “Mom, I saw the outfit! You did such à great job; I love you!”

Daisy’s voice came up from downstairs, full of laughter. “As long as you like it!”
Victoria grinned. “I love it to death!”
With that, she went back to change into the outfit, checked herself out in the full-length mirror, and once she was satisfied. called out. “Mom, I’m heading out!” before leaving.

After Curtis sent the message, he and Julia carried their bags out of the apartment and got into the car. Even then, there was still no reply from Victoria.
Seeing him still staring at his phone, Julia said coldly, “Quit staring at your phone. Victoria’s not going to come see us off
If this had been before, Julia would’ve thought Victoria was a cruel daughter. But now, she just felt they deserved to be treated this way by Victoria.
The real heartless ones were never Victoria, but Julia herself, her two sons, Simon and Curtis, and her husband, Darell. When they were thriving and enjoying the benefits, they never once stopped to reflect. Now that their luck had run out. expecting Victoria to forgive and forget was nothing short of laughable.
Curtis felt a sharp ache in his chest, but he couldn’t deny that Julia was right. He put his phone away. “Please, take us to the airport,” Curtis said.
After that, Curtis stared out the window, watching the city’s tall buildings fade into the distance, as if his twenty-four years were drifting away with them.
‘Goodbye, Benwig City,’ he thought. ‘Goodbye, Vickie.’

Since it was Saturday, Victoria didn’t go to Brightstar Entertainment. Instead, she went to see Ume. “Boss, morning”” Ume greeted her, clearly happy to see Victoria.
Victoria nodded. “Morning. Ume, where’s Ashley?”
Ume hopped onto the couch, set her laptop on her folded legs, and said, “She’s in her room.”
As she spoke, she glanced at the closed door next to her and lowered her voice. “Boss, Ashley’s been holed up in her room for the past couple of days. I have no idea what she’s up to.”
Victoria knew Ashley still hadn’t gotten over being kept and abused by Steven. “I’ll take her out for a bit later,” she said.
Ume nodded. “Yeah, it’s good for her to get out and clear her head.”
Victoria wasn’t taking Ashley out just for a change of scenery; she had a much bigger reason. She wanted Ashley to understand that ending her own life would be utterly pointless.
Victoria believed that if someone dared to end their life, that same courage could have been used to confront those drove them to the edge.
“Boss! Can I tag along too?” Ume asked, her eyes wide with hope, just as Victoria was about to head out.
Victoria raised an eyebrow. “Have you finished your work yet?”
