Chapter 427

Victoria said calmly, “Mom, it’s not like you just met me. You know exactly what kind of person I am. Why would I take the fall for something I didn’t do?”

She paused, then continued, “Whoever messed up should own it. Once Jackson finishes his investigation, we’ll know exactly what happened.”

Daisy finally relaxed. “Yeah, you never give me any reason to worry.”

Victoria added, “Mom, even though Jackson’s helping us investigate, I can’t just sit around. I need to find out if this Binder Medical incident has anything to do with the Clark family, so…”

“I know, don’t worry about me,” Daisy said, understanding. “Honestly, there’s nothing I can do right now. The best thing I can do is stay out of your way and support you while you try to help Dad.”

“Don’t say that, Mom. Just being here at home, waiting for us, is the biggest encouragement for Dad and me,” Victoria said, noticing the dark circles under her mom’s eyes. “Mom, did you not sleep well last night? You should get some rest today.”

“Okay,” Daisy replied. With Victoria home, Daisy finally felt at ease and obediently went back to her room to rest.

After watching her mom head back to her room, Victoria pulled out her phone, about to call Mara, when Simon’s call came through first. Instead of hanging up, she answered.

“Vickie, I saw the news about Binder Medical,” Simon said. “I’m sorry. This really shouldn’t have anything to do with your dad. The issue probably started back when my dad was still running things,” he added.

Victoria sat down on the couch and said, “It’s not clear yet; we’re still looking into it. But chances are, to when your dad was in charge.”

“I’m really sorry, Vickie. I mean it…” Simon said.

Victoria interrupted him. “Is that why you called?”

the problem goes back

Simon paused for a moment, then said, “Curtis went abroad. I was planning to head out to Mullinran Village tomorrow, but I really didn’t expect your dad to get caught up in something like this.”

Victoria frowned. “The Binder family isn’t your concern anymore. I’ll handle the Binder Medical mess myself. And about you going to Mullinran Village…”

Simon’s voice was tired and full of sorrow. “I heard Grandpa moved to Mullinran Village. So much has happened lately, it’s really torn me up inside. I’ve finally let go of the past. I just want to be there for Grandpa, take care of him, and be with him in his final years.”

“That’s fine, as long as you’re not afraid of my uncles and aunts shutting you out. They might welcome Grandpa, but you? They won’t exactly roll out the red carpet,” Victoria said bluntly.

“I know, but this time it’s different. Before, I had my own motives, so they pushed me away. Now I’m sincere; I just want to care for Grandpa and be with him in his final years,” Simon said.

Victoria stayed silent.

“Are you sure you don’t need my help with Binder Medical?” Simon asked.

Victoria scoffed. “Come on, what could you possibly do to help?”

Chapter 427

Simon was at a loss for words, Victoria pressed, “So what, you want to cover for someone like the Clark family da blame for us?”

Simon was silent for a while, then finally said, “If you think it’s right, I’m willing to take the fall for your dad… No, actually for my own dad.”

Victoria scoffed, I’m not as pathetic as Nathan. I don’t need anyone to take the blame for me.”

She said coolly, “Alright, if you’re really going to Mullinran Village to look after Grandpa, then follow through and stop second-guessing yourself.

“The only reason I answered your call today is that Curtis reached out to me, and I figured you’d try to contact me too. So this is your last chance to say goodbye and clear things up between us. After this, don’t come looking for me again.”

“I get it… Your dad will be okay. I’m still heading to Mullinran Village tomorrow as I planned. But today. I’d like to drop by the Binder family and see you and your mom, if that’s alright. I know you’re busy, and if your mom’s alone, she might worry herself sick,” Simon said.

Victoria glanced up at Daisy’s room on the second floor. Maybe having Simon come over would help take Mom’s mind off things, so she wouldn’t stress so much about Dad being at the police station.

“Okay,” Victoria replied.

Simon clearly hadn’t expected her to say yes, and he sounded instantly excited. “I’ll get ready and come over right now! he said.

After hanging up, Victoria’s expression darkened. Simon’s call today made her realize something important.

If Steven wanted to take revenge on her, would he target her uncles and aunts in Mullinran Village? Like, maybe kidnap someone from the village and use them as a hostage to threaten her?

Victoria called Mara and gave her two instructions. “You probably already know about the trouble at Binder Medical. I need you to have someone keep an eye on Nathan and let me know if he makes any moves.”

“Got it,” Mara replied.

“Second thing, my grandpa just moved to Mullinran Village to retire. I’m worried Steven might go after him or anyone in the village. Send a few people to keep watch, and if anything seems off, report to me immediately,” Victoria said.

“Okay,” Mara replied.

After giving Mara her instructions, Victoria finally felt a bit more at ease. She called over Alonso and said, “Simon will be coming by soon. Let him in when he arrives.”

“Yes, Ms. Binder,” Alonso replied.

One hour later. Alonso led Simon into Goldenwood Villa. “Ms. Binder, Simon is here,” Alonso announced.

“Okay,” Victoria said. She was lounging on the couch with her eyes closed, but at the sound of his voice, she opened her eyes and turned to look.

Simon looked just as worn out as Curtis, with the same scruffy beard, clearly hadn’t bothered to clean himself up for quite

some time.

Still, thanks to their strikingly handsome features, even in their current state, both brothers managed to pull off a unique. melancholic allure that made their downfall oddly captivating

When Simon saw Victoria, a hint of happiness flashed in his eyes. He asked, sounding genuinely concerned, “Vickie, how’s your mom holding up?”

Victoria barely reacted to Simon’s arrival, her voice calm and indifferent. “She’s asleep. When she wakes up, just chat with her, help distract her a bit.”

Simon nodded, a little too eager. “Alright, I know you’ve got your hands full with the Binder Medical investigation and trying to get your dad out of the police station. So don’t worry, Vickie, leave it to me, I’ll make sure your mom’s alright today.”

With Simon here, Victoria felt less worried that Daisy would start overthinking things on her own. As Victoria was about to leave, Simon spoke up. “I’m sorry.”

Victoria frowned and reminded him, “When you’re with my mom, don’t bring up stuff like that. No pointless apologies or anything that’ll make her feel worse.”

Simon quickly said, “Got it, I won’t upset her or make things heavier.”

Victoria ignored Simon and left.

Even though Jackson was investigating Evergreen Medical for her, Victoria still had her own leads to follow.

he needed to gather all the records and information about the patient involved in the medical accident, the

r dad taken in by the police, including their personal details and family connections.

ew there were plenty of people out there just waiting to watch her crash and burn, eager to see her make a fool of self this time.

Whether it was Nathan or Steven scheming behind the Binder Medical mess, all they wanted was to see her fall apart. But she wasn’t about to let them have their way.

Victoria was hell-bent on making Brightstar Entertainment, Binder Medical, and the whole Binder family rise, unstoppable, untouchable, and

could imagine. than anyone stronger

As for Nathan and Steven, when the time came, she would let them burn and destroy everything they had.
