Chapter 431
After dismantling the faulty device, Victoria explained, “Everyone here, and all the viewers watching the livestream, please take a look. This defective device was sent back from the hospital for inspection.
“The sealant on the core sensor module isn’t our original; it was deliberately replaced with a cheaper substitute. That’s why the oxygen probe shows about a 20% error after eight hours of operation.”
The reporter asked, “According to the reports, this gentleman’s wife died during childbirth because her rapid heartbeat was misdiagnosed as a normal heart rate, which led to a fatal medical accident.”
The middle–aged man stiffened his neck and snapped, “Exactly! Their medical equipment malfunctioned! Who’s going to buy your story about someone swapping in cheap parts? You’re just trying to find some figurehead from a shell company to take the fall!”
Victoria looked directly into the reporters‘ cameras and said, “I believe the police will get to the bottom of this.”
Nathan watched Victoria on the livestream, her calm expression unchanged, and a cold smirk tugged at his lips. The top cop in Benwig City is my backer. Does she really think the police could dig up any evidence? Nathan scoffed inwardly. What a joke!
After dismantling the faulty device and explaining everything to the reporters and livestream viewers, Victoria turned to her assistant, who had just finished calming the staff and had come out to help.
“It’s pretty cold out here, and I still have to keep the livestream going. Go grab me some heating equipment so I can stick it out with these reporters.” She said it straight out, no sugarcoating whatsoever.
The assistant froze for a second at Victoria’s request. ‘Is she for real?‘ the assistant wondered. ‘Ms. Binder’s attitude isn’t just good; it’s next level!‘
Snapping out of it, the assistant replied, “Got it,” and hurried back inside to grab a heater.
The reporters outside looked completely shocked. Before long, the assistant came out carrying a space heater and a power strip. “Ms. Binder, this is the only heater left in the office,” the assistant said.
Victoria nodded. “Alright, have someone set up a shelter for me. The darker it gets, the worse the wind and snow; it’s enough to give anyone a headache.”
The assistant glanced awkwardly at the reporters and the deceased’s family outside, all of them wearing different expressions, but she put on a brave face and got to work.
Before long, the shelter was ready. Victoria walked confidently around the shelter, clearly satisfied. “Nice. Even if I have to go toe–to–toe with these reporters all night, I’ll be totally fine.”
Then, as if she just remembered something, Victoria turned to her assistant and said. “I’m the portable stove.”
starving. Go grab me a pot set ant
Once the assistant was gone, Victoria whipped out her phone and started scrolling through food delivery apps. By now, it was pitch black outside, and the cold was getting worse by the minute.
The reporters who’d been camped out here all day, along with the deceased’s husband and his parents, were completely worn out. Seeing this, their anger boiled over.
The old woman was the first to snap. “You shameless girl! I have every reason to believe someone like you would do anything for profit, even let my son’s wife die!”

The old man started cursing, too. “You heartless beast! Open the door and let us in so we can get out of this storm!”
Just as they were hurling insults at Victoria, the assistant returned carrying a pot set and a portable stove. The deceased’s husband, still stuck outside, was so furious his face turned livid.
“You murderer! How can you just sit here and eat as if nothing happened?” he shouted.
Victoria remained unfazed. “People need food to keep going. If I don’t eat, I’ll be starving; how else am I supposed to have the energy to keep livestreaming the truth?”
Just then, the delivery guy’s voice rang out from outside. “Who ordered the food?” he called.
Victoria immediately raised her hand and called out, “Over here!”
The delivery guy walked over and handed Victoria the food, with dozens of eyes and the livestream camera all watching him. ‘Man, talk about pressure!‘ the delivery guy thought.
The livestream viewers, seeing how calm Victoria was, couldn’t help but comment: [Honestly, this lady’s got a crazy strong mindset! After everything that happened, she doesn’t even seem to feel a shred of guilt!]
[If you’ve got nothing to hide, you don’t need to worry about rumors!]
[Seriously, I’m starting to believe her! People who’ve done something shady usually hide in the dark, but she’s out here boldly in the spotlight!]
[I’ve always trusted Victoria! She’s basically the moral compass of the elite circles!]

Aside from Nathan, plenty of other elite families were watching the livestream. Gavin was one of them.
Even though he’d made up his mind not to interfere with Victoria anymore, once he heard she was facing trouble, he couldn’t help but follow her situation. He’d been watching her livestream nonstop, keeping an eye on her the whole day.
Just seeing her through a screen was enough to make him feel content. Victoria was still the same; nothing scared her, not even the sky falling.
“Didn’t you say you wouldn’t bother Victoria anymore? So why are you still watching her?” Sophie’s voice came from nearby
Gavin replied, “I’ve already decided not to bother her. Can’t I just watch from afar?”
Sophie said, “Fine. Just don’t embarrass the Fairbank family again… Oh, look at that, she even ordered takeout, and it’s our family’s delivery guy doing the run.”
She continued. “She’s got such a strong mindset. Even now, she’s boldly eating barbecue right there in front of e Honestly, I know I couldn’t pull that off myself.”
Gavin said proudly, “You can’t really compare yourself to her. Of course, you couldn’t do it”
Sophie reached over and smacked him on the head. I’m being nice to you, and you still talk to me like that?
Gavin turned around, fuming. “Hit me again and see if I don’t hit back!”
everyone
Sophie scoffed. “You gotta have the guts to try With that, she leaned over, snatched the tablet from Gavin, and pulled it in front of herself, ready to watch the livestream everyone was talking about.

Ten minutes later, the barbecue was ready. Victoria grabbed the barbecue ingredients from the delivery and, with a pair of disposable forks, dumped everything into the pot all at once.
All kinds of ingredients, meat and vegetables. The spicy broth bubbled and steamed, filling the air with a mouthwatering aroma that made the reporters and the deceased’s family outside swallow hard.
Suddenly, a limited–edition luxury car pulled up not far behind the crowd of reporters gathered at the entrance of Binder Medical. The headlights instantly drew everyone’s attention.
The door opened, and Ollie stepped out. He walked around to the back and opened the rear door. With Ollie’s help, Jackson leaned on the car for support and slowly stepped out onto the ground.
The livestream viewers were once again swooning over Jackson’s looks: [Ah! Jackson Thornton is still drop–dead gorgeous!]
[Wow. he’s actually standing up now!]
[Yeah he really can stand! He’ll be walking like a regular guy in no time!]
Jackson gritted his teeth, fighting through the pain as he pushed himself up with his hands, then slowly eased himself back into his wheelchair.
Ollie guided the wheelchair with steady hands, making sure Jackson moved forward without a hitch. Up ahead, the bodyguards were already in position. They quickly spread out, forming a tight ring and opening a secure path for Jackson and Ollie.
The scene was so striking that the noisy reporters suddenly went quiet. They stepped aside almost as if an invisible force compelled them to clear the way. Jackson’s gaze swept over the crowd and settled on the heavy iron gate, firmly closed.
Peering through the narrow gap, he spotted Victoria comfortably inside, happily digging into her barbecue. Jack
