Chapter 432
Jackson’s voice was quiet, but it somehow made everyone feel safe.
“Finally, you found something. If you hadn’t shown up, I would’ve been waiting forever,” Victoria mumbled, shoving a slice of beef into her mouth before telling the security guard to open the door.
The guard glanced nervously at the angry family members outside, who were glaring at them. “Ms. Binder, are you sure yo want to open the door?”
Victoria repeated, “Open it. If they try anything, just call the cops and have them taken away for provoking a disturbance.
Only then did the guard open the big iron gate, letting Jackson and the others in. The angry family members tried to barge in, but the police blocked their way.
The middle–aged man immediately shouted, “Let us in! Are you cops in cahoots with them or what?”
The elderly couple chimed in, “Why are you stopping us? We’re just trying to stand up for our daughter–in–law and grandson!”
Victoria said, “Justice? It’s right here.”
Once they were inside, Jackson signaled Ollie to hand over the investigation results and documents to Victoria. “Vickie, take a look. This is all the urgent files and evidence Ollie managed to pull together for me these past couple of days.*
Victoria nodded. “Okay.” Then, she leaned in and kissed Jackson on the cheek. “Thanks, honey. You’ve worked so hard.”
The reporters at the scene were stunned into silence, protesting that it was not the time to display romance and demanding respect for those seeking justice.
The livestream chat was blowing up: [Oh my gosh! Is this a romance novel happening in real life? I’m dying here!]
[Am I the only one who thinks this is out of line? The family of the deceased is right here with the portrait!]
[Yeah, it’s like they don’t even care that someone died!]
Jackson grinned. “Anything for you, it’s never a hassle.”
Victoria took the files Jackson had gathered and turned to her assistant. “Get our lawyer over here.”
The assistant nodded quickly. “Got it.” With that, he grabbed his phone, turned around, and dialed the lawyer’s number
Victoria turned to Jackson and said, “You must’ve rushed over here. Bet you haven’t had dinner yet, huh?”
The reporters had a bad feeling about it, questioning what they were up to, whether they planned to continue eating, and i! they were actually having a couple’s dinner at that moment.
Jackson smiled. “Yeah, I haven’t eaten yet.”
Victoria grabbed a pair of disposable forks and handed them to him. “Come on, sit down and eat with me.
Hearing this, the husband of the deceased completely lost it. “You bitch! You killed my wife and son, and you still have the nerve to sit here and eat? How dare you!”
Victoria ignored him, just raising an eyebrow at Jackson Jack, you don’t mund the vibe here, do you?

Jackson took the fork and smiled casually. “Not at all.”
So, with more than thirty reporters from various media outlets, plus the deceased’s husband and in–laws, all left staring helplessly, they could only watch as Victoria and Jackson happily dug into their food right in front of everyone.

Sophie couldn’t help but laugh out loud when she saw Victoria actually invite Jackson to join her for barbecue after he arrived.
Victoria really is something else,’ Sophie thought. ‘She’s really one of a kind.
As she continued laughing, all her worries faded away. No wonder Jackson had fallen for Victoria; there weren’t many people with a heart as big as hers.
At first, just like all the other rich kids in Benwig City, Sophie couldn’t understand why Jackson would choose to marry an uneducated girl like Victoria. But the more she saw how Victoria handled things, the more Sophie felt outclassed by her.
She thought, ‘If my family’s company ever faced a crisis this huge, and my dad got hauled off by the cops, there’s no way I’d be able to keep my cool.
Suddenly, Sophie heard someone quietly sobbing behind her. She turned around and saw her dorky brother Gavin, quietly sobbing as he stared at the tablet in his hands. Sophie just stared, lost for words.
Gavin was crying, his voice full of frustration. “Why is it that whenever Victoria needs someone, it’s always Jackson by her side, not me? Why can’t I ever get a shot?”
Well, he kept telling himself he’d moved on, but honestly, he just couldn’t accept it.
But that was just how life went. Sometimes people lost, and no matter how much it stung, nothing could be done. In love, there were victories and defeats, and it couldn’t be forced.
Sophie closed the livestream, turned off the tablet, tossed it onto the coffee table, then got up and walked over to Gavin. giving his shoulder a gentle pat. “Time heals all wounds in love. Just ride it out, you’ll get over it.” With that, she headed toward the dining room.
She asked, “Watching Victoria eat like that just reminded me I haven’t had dinner yet. Looks like Dad’s not coming home again. I’m going to eat. You coming?”
Gavin ignored her, wiping away his tears as he murmured, “Can I really ever let her go?”
*******
After they finished their food, the lawyer Victoria had invited showed up just in time. Victoria dabbed her mouth with a napkin, then waved the reporters over. “Come on, bring your cameras in closer so you can all get a good look at what I’m holding.”
She handed the documents to the lawyer and said, “Please check these over and let the victim’s family know who’s really responsible for this medical incident.”
The lawyer took the documents and started reading through them. “Hopevale Group suddenly switched its corporate oOWNET six months ago… And their new address is literally just one street over from the R&D center of Horizon Medical. Binder Medical’s main competitor…”
He said confidently. “So, it looks like Horizon Medical is secretly pulling the strings at Hopevale Medical now!
Victoria added, “Our tech team at Binder Medical also found laser–etched serial numbers on the faulty module that were

made to look just like the originals, but the spacing between the letters was off by 0.1mm
The lawyer nodded. “So it’s pretty obvious; this is straight–up fraud, not just a simple quality problem. Basically, Horizon Medical, Binder Medical’s competitor, is using Hopevale Medical as a puppet supplier to slip doctored medical parts into the official supply chain.
“If something goes wrong, it trashes Binder Medical’s reputation, and at the same time, they get to steal your tech.
The livestream chat finally got it: [Oh, so that’s how it went down! Hopevale Medical only switched suppliers six months ago. so this whole mess started way back then! And back then, Binder Medical was still run by Darell, so Hector had nothing to do with it!]
[Out of the three hospitals that reported issues, one already had a patient death. The family caused a scene, forcing the hospital to involve the police over the equipment failure. Since it all happened under Hector’s watch, he has to take responsibility.]
[Poor Hector!]
Victoria asked, “So this whole thing is a setup against Binder Medical, not just some random accident, right?”
The lawyer answered, “Exactly!”
Victoria faced the cameras, her tone sharp and commanding. “You all got that, yeah? Next up, I’m reporting Hopevale Medical for commercial fraud, freezing their accounts, and suing HorizonUniversal Medical for patent infringement!”
Then she shot an icy glare at the middle–aged man holding the portrait. “And as for you, getting paid to come here and make a scene tonight? Don’t think you’ll get away with it. I’m coming after you, and you better believe I’ll hold you legally accountable!”
