The next evening, Angelica had someone bring Sabine over to the apartment Nathan arranged for her.

Angelica was getting her nails done at home when Sabine arrived. She glanced up, clearly impatient.

“Sabine, right? So, have you thought it through?” Angelica asked, not bothering to hide her impatience.

Sabine kept her head down, nervously twisting her hands for what felt like forever. Finally, she looked gathered her courage. “I don’t agree.”

Angelica’s eyes flashed with a vicious glint. ‘She’s just a broke nobody with no support. Why does she think her so–called dignity matters?‘

“You don’t agree? Fine. Then everyone you know is about to see these nudes,” Angelica said, tossing the stack of photos toward her without a care.

Sabine looked down, and sure enough, the naked woman in the photos was her.

There were all kinds of settings, all kinds of poses. But in every single one, her eyes were closed.

She had absolutely no memory of when these photos were taken. Her face went completely pale, drained of

all color.

“All done,” the manicurist finally said.

Angelica lifted her hand and blew on her fresh nails. “This is your last chance, do you agree or not?”

Sabine didn’t answer. She just dropped to her knees, covering her face as she broke down in tears.

“God, this is so frustrating!” Angelica slammed her hand on the table and marched over, ready to grab Sabine by the hair and really put her in her place. But just then, her phone on the couch started ringing.

The manicurist glanced at the screen while packing up. “It’s the administrator from Greenville Talent Academy.”

Angelica dropped the idea of dealing with Sabine right then. She turned around, forcing herself to stay calm as she answered the call. “What is it?”

The voice on the other end was frantic. “Something’s wrong! Our academy’s been exposed online.”

“What got exposed?” Angelica felt a chill run down her spine as she asked.

“It’s… it’s about forcing the students to sell their bodies,” the administrator stammered.

Angelica froze, her phone nearly slipping from her hand.

She didn’t say a word, just quickly checked her phone. The trending topic on X was [Angelica and Nathan]. The post included photos of her at the academy, as well as shots of her at a maternity store and at the hospital for curettage surgery.

Seeing those terrifying comments under the post, Angelica started to panic. She grabbed her phone, about to call Nathan, but when her finger hovered over the call button, she froze.

Is there any point in calling Nathan?‘ Angelica thought. ‘He’d probably just finish.me off!‘

Right then, Nathan called. The phone started ringing, and Angelica’s heart pounded with panic.

She stared at the screen, her hands shaking. ‘Should I answer?‘ Angelica wondered.

‘No, I can’t answer! Nathan would actually kill me!‘ Angelica didn’t pick up, nor did she hang up. She just let it ring out on its own.

The phone rang again, and it was Nathan again.

Angelica absolutely had to get out of here. There was no way she could stay any longer.

She paid the manicurist, told someone to take Sabine back to the academy, and once the apartment was empty, she grabbed her phone and rushed back to her room. She searched frantically for anything valuable to take with her, but there was nothing worth grabbing.

Not once had Nathan ever bought her anything during all the time she’d been with him.

The more she thought about it, the more she realized her life with Nathan was never as good as she’d hoped.

All she wanted was to survive and to use Nathan as her weapon against Victoria.

But now, it was obvious Nathan hadn’t helped her get revenge on Victoria at all. Worse yet, the Clark family was barely holding it together.

What really stung, she’d even been pregnant with his child, and Nathan was heartless enough to make her lose the baby.

Using him to get back at Victoria was impossible now, and the dream of becoming a high–society wife was dead, too.

Right now, all she cared about was staying alive. Surviving was all that mattered.

With that thought, Angelica grabbed her phone and rushed out of the apartment Nathan had put her in.

As she stepped outside, the two bodyguards Nathan had assigned to keep an eye on her frowned and asked sternly, “Where are you going?”

Angelica steadied herself, pretending to be calm. “I’m not feeling well. I’m just going downstairs to buy some medicine.”

The bodyguards were unmoved. “Just get it delivered.”

Angelica bit her lip and insisted, “It won’t take long. I’ll be right back.”

With that, she hurried toward the elevator.

Just then, the elevator doors slid open. One woman and two men stepped out.

Angelica’s face went stiff, she recognized the woman leading the group. It was the same one who’d brought Lexi to catch her before.

“They’re Victoria’s people! Stop them!” Angelica shouted, then spun around and dashed back into her room.

Seeing this, Mara strode forward, calmly instructing the two men behind her, “You two, go catch her. I’ll deal with the two outside.”
