Victoria tied up Steven and his lackey then locked them in her room.
At seven o’clock, Simon and Stephan finally arrived.

Seeing Steven and his man tied up in front of the wooden cabinet, Stephan walked over and kicked Steven hard in the chest.
“You bastard! Do you know how many people live in Mullinran Village? How dare you try to blow up the whole village!” Stephan shouted.
Seeing this, Steven’s lackey struggled to move over, trying to shield Steven from the blow.
Stephan kicked the lackey away and cursed, “You’ll get your turn soon. What’s the rush?”
With that, he lashed out at Steven with another angry kick.
Steven’s mouth was covered, so he couldn’t say a word. He could only take the hits as Stephan took out his rage on him.
Victoria didn’t stop him.
After all, if Steven’s plan had worked, hundreds of people in the village would have been buried here tonight.
Once Stephan had vented his anger, he turned around and sat down. “Last night, we followed your instructions. We dug up all the explosives buried in Mullinran Village and had the bomb squad defuse them.”
Victoria nodded. “Good. Stephan, by eleven tonight, you and Yorine should take Simon and the rest of the family down to the cellar to take shelter.”
The village had a cellar originally meant for storing important supplies, but they never expected it to become their safe haven.
Stephan nodded. “Got it.”
Simon suddenly remembered something and asked, “Vickie, what about those fourteen death row convicts?”
Stephan and the others suddenly realized they hadn’t dealt with the death row convicts yet.
Victoria had already made up her mind. “We’ll keep one of the death row convicts as a key witness against Steven later. The other thirteen will stay in the village as bait.”
Yorine voiced her concern. “These death row convicts are stone–cold killers. If nobody’s keeping an eye on them, I doubt they’ll play nice.”
Victoria glanced at the silent 001 in the corner. “She will handle those thirteen convicts.”
Everyone in the room instantly followed Victoria’s gaze to 001, that was standing there with its hands shoved in its pockets.

001 was dressed in a long black trench coat, the collar popped up to cover most of its face. It had a black hat pulled low over the head, the brim shadowing its features so they couldn’t see her face at all.
With that getup and her silent attitude, it looked downright mysterious.
Victoria explained, “Don’t worry, everyone. 001 isn’t just some ordinary person. It’s a robot my dad poured his heart and soul into building, with abilities that far surpass any human. So, it doesn’t have to worry about getting hit by stray bullets.”
Hearing that, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. This mission really couldn’t be more suited for 001.
Victoria rose and walked to the window, silently staring out into the night, lost in thought.
Outside, darkness blanketed everything, with only the glimmering lights from the villagers‘ homes peeking through like scattered stars in the night sky.
Her gaze turned dark and icy as she said in a chilling tone, “Now, the real game begins.”
Steven’s men, hiding out in the mountains, kept watching Victoria’s side with their night–vision binoculars, tracking every move.
“He’s been in there for ages. What if something happened to him? Should we act now?” one of them whispered.
“Unless we get word to change the plan, we stick to the original. If anything goes wrong, we can’t afford to take the blame!” another replied.
Early that morning, they’d been given their orders: if Steven wasn’t out of Mullinran Village by eleven, they were to storm in under the guise of hunting down fugitives, rescue him, and then blow up the explosives they’d planted all over the village.
Before long, they saw a few villagers head into Victoria’s place, and they didn’t come out for almost two hours.
Steven’s men glanced at the clock. It was already 9 PM.
“Stay sharp. If Steven’s not out by eleven, we’ll go in and pull him out ourselves!” one of them said.
“Got it!” the others responded.

After having dinner with Simon and the others, Victoria took a deep nap. When her alarm rang at eleven, she pushed open the wooden window and gazed out at the scenery outside.
She grabbed her phone, started a livestream, and pointed the camera at the sky outside.
“Hey guys, we’re live! The fireworks show kicks off in less than an hour,” she said.
Her livestream was soon flooded with fans. Some were here for the music, some for the novels, and plenty

just for the gossip and excitement.
[Finally! Been waiting all night for this stream!]
[Wait, you’re celebrating New Year’s in the village and Jackson isn’t with you?]
[Yeah, it’s your first New Year since you met Jackson. That’s pretty special.]
Victoria chuckled. “Jack’s still busy, but he’ll be here soon.”
The chat instantly blew up.
[Ahhh! So Vic actually calls Jackson ‘Jack‘ in private? That’s adorable!]
[If you guys are freaking out over ‘Jack,‘ just imagine if Vic called him ‘hubby‘. You’d totally lose it!]

After a while, Victoria grabbed her phone and started casually filming around the house, showing everyone what was going on.
When the camera caught Steven and his lackey all tied up, the comments instantly shifted:
[Damn! What’s up with that dude? Is he seriously tied up?]
[I saw it too! Hey, Victoria, who’s that middle–aged guy?]
Victoria didn’t beat around the bush. “That’s Steven, the chief of the Benwig City Police Department.”
[Holy crap! Are you serious? How did you end up tying up someone like that in your own house?]
[Yeah, Vic, aren’t you afraid you’ll be locked up for life after this stunt?]
[Wait, I think I just realized something! Isn’t this Steven the big shot Ashley exposed before?]
[So why is he here? Vic, spill the tea!]
Suddenly, gunshots echoed through the village.
The livestream chat exploded again.
[Wait, was that gunfire?]
[Yeah, I heard it too!]
[Nah, you guys are tripping. It’s probably just fireworks or something.]
[No way, that’s definitely gunfire!]
Steven was thrashing around, tied up tight, but there was no way he could get loose.
Victoria stayed cool. “Yeah, that’s gunfire. Steven’s guys are attacking the village.”

The chat freaked out.
[Is Steven really trying to kill everyone to cover his tracks?!]

[Honestly, Vic’s village is so out in the sticks. If something happened, nobody would ever find out!]
[Wait, is this actually real? Vic, is this just a show you planned? I’m kinda freaking out!]
Victoria turned around and jabbed a silver needle right into Steven’s temple.
Steven stopped struggling and knocked out cold in seconds.
[What’s Vic doing now?]
[No clue, let’s just watch and see what happens.]
Victoria walked over to the door, opened it, and aimed her phone at the outside.
In the distance, someone was running for their life. Then, a gunshot rang out, and the person dropped to the ground.
It was hard to see from this far, but one could barely make out that the guys with guns were all decked out in tactical gear.
[OMG, are they actually shooting villagers? This is insane!]
[Vic, you’re freaking me out! Please tell me this is all just a prank!]
About twenty minutes later, the door to Victoria’s place was shoved open from outside, and a bunch of guys in tactical gear burst in.
“Hands up!” one of them barked.
