The next evening, Steven’s car pulled into Mullinran Village.
He had his driver stop a passing villager and ask, “Where does Victoria Binder live?”
The villager sized them up and said, “Oh, you’re looking for Victoria? I’ll take you there.”
Before long, the villager led Steven to Victoria’s hut. “Here we are. Victoria lives right here.”
After the villager left, Steven got out of the car, grimacing at the rundown hut in front of him.
He tiptoed across the muddy ground, like his shoes might get swallowed up by the muck with every step.
Finally, he made it to the door and spotted Victoria inside, sitting on a wooden stool, messing around with some herbs.
The guy next to him knocked on the door three times, clearly impatient.
Victoria looked up and said, “Hey, Seth, so you actually showed up.”
Steven’s brow furrowed as he scanned the room, making sure no one else was inside. Only then did he step in and sit down on a battered old wooden stool, his annoyance obvious.
“I’ve told you, I’m not Seth. Who’s that anyway?” Steven replied.
Victoria glanced at him, half–smiling. “Come on, it’s you. If you weren’t Seth, why would you travel all the way out here to this tiny village just to see me?”
Steven’s face soured, but he kept his air of authority. “Cut the crap. I have my reasons for coming here.”
Victoria didn’t even flinch at his attitude. She casually tossed the cleaned herbs into a basket, dusted off her hands, and mused, “My relatives really did a good job with these herbs.”
Steven couldn’t care less about the herbs. He shot her a warning look. “Enough with the chit–chat. You said you’ve got evidence I’m Seth. What do you mean?”
Victoria’s lips curled into a sly smile. “Oh, so you’re admitting you’re Seth now? Afraid I’ll expose you, so you made the trip just to snatch the evidence, huh?”

Steven forced himself to keep his cool. “I really don’t want to waste any more breath on you.”
Victoria let out a mocking laugh. “You think I actually want to waste my breath on you?”

Steven sneered, “What, you planning to try something? Now that you know who I am, you really think you can pull the same stunt you did with Nathan? If anything happens to me here, it’s not just you. This whole village goes down with you.”
Victoria laughed again. “Oh, I know. But even if nothing happens to you, haven’t you already planned to bring down the whole village anyway?”
Steven’s expression froze. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
Victoria curled her lips into a sly smile. “You know exactly what I mean.”
Steven kept staring at Victoria, suddenly unable to tell if she really knew about his plan to blow up Mullinran Village, or if she was just bluffing.
“No need to guess. I know your plan. You want to bomb this village, don’t you?” Victoria casually picked up another herb and sniffed it.
Steven’s expression twisted, panic flashing across his face.
“Boss, why don’t we just kill her?” the guy at the door yelled. He yanked out his gun and stormed in, ready to shut her up for good.
But before he could even point it at Victoria, the gun just dropped from his hand and hit the floor with a loud clatter.
Suddenly, a small black snake darted out of nowhere, wrapped itself around the gun on the floor, and delivered it right to Victoria’s side.
Victoria grabbed the gun and leveled it at Steven.
The henchman’s face turned ghostly pale. He tried to rush over to protect Steven, but his whole body went numb and he crumpled to the ground.
“Bang!” Victoria lifted the gun, pretending to pull the trigger, complete with her own sound effect.
Steven gave his fallen henchman a quick look, but stayed silent.
Victoria spun the gun around her fingers and grinned. “Didn’t you bother to ask Nathan what I can do before coming here? You really thought you could just show up with one man and face me?”
She went on, answering her own question, “Oh, is it that you’ve got your escape route all planned out? If anything happens to you tonight, your people will come in guns blazing, right?” 、
Steven was caught off guard by how much she knew. His cool started to slip, and he looked a bit rattled.
Seeing him still silent, Victoria said, “Let me spell it out for you. I’m just waiting for you to send in your armed

Village.”

Steven’s composure finally cracked. He snapped, “Victoria, so you never had any supposed evidence. You just baited me into coming here.”
“Exactly,” Victoria nodded. “Without that evidence, you wouldn’t have bothered showing up.”
“You say you want to pin all that on me abusing my power, blowing up the whole village. Who’s gonna back you up on that?” Steven shot back.
“The whole internet will be my witness. I already posted on X, and I’m live–streaming the fireworks show tonight.” Victoria said, then added, “And of course, Jackson’s uncle.”
‘Jackson’s uncle?‘ Steven thought. ‘We’ve always stayed out of each other’s way. Is he really going to step in and go against me now?‘
Steven gritted his teeth. “Victoria, who the hell are you?”
Victoria set the gun down on the wooden bed, speaking calmly. “Funny thing, Nathan asked me the same question. I didn’t answer him, but now, I’ll answer you.”
She paused for a moment, then said, “Have you ever heard of the world’s largest independent talent alliance?”
Steven froze, his eyes full of disbelief. “You’re actually a member of that organization?”
He definitely knew about it. That group was well–known and powerful across the globe.
It was famous for gathering all kinds of top talent, with members in every field; tech, art, business, you name it.
And this organization was growing at an insane pace, its power was unmatched. The government had even tried to recruit them, hoping to make them an official part of the system, but the leader flat–out refused without hesitation.
“No, I’m the boss of that organization,” Victoria said bluntly. Seeing Steven’s face turn pale with panic, she drawled, “So, do you think they’d believe me if I testified against you to those big shots up top?”
At that moment, Steven slumped onto the wooden stool, completely defeated.
