reasoned.
When he thought about that, Curtis’s grin grew even more smug.
Victoria’s such a fool. She knows her brakes are busted and she’s still gunning it? Is she so freaked out she’s slamming the gas instead of the brakes?‘ Curtis sneered to himself.
‘Shit.‘ Curtis thought. ‘Did I just go way too far this time?
He only meant to mess Victoria up–maybe break a few bones, leave her half–paralyzed so she could be a matching cripple for Jackson. But at the speed she’s going now, if she crashes, she was not just getting hurt. She would end up dead.
‘Screw it. It’s already done–no turning back now. I had my bodyguard wreck the security cameras, so even if uncle, aunt, or grandpa launch a full investigation, they’ll never pin this on me,’ he thought.

Chapter 89
Ollie drove close behind Victoria’s Porsche Panamera, following her across the city toward a more
remote area.
The speed was way too high. Ollie, worried about Jackson riding in Victoria’s car, quickly called him.
“Mr. Thornton, are you alright?” Ollie asked.
I’m fine. The brakes are just broken, so the car can’t stop right now,” Jackson replied, his voice steady, with even a hint of anticipation.
Ollie was stunned. “What? The brakes are broken, and Ms. Binder is still driving so fast? That’s
insane.”
Jackson just chuckled softly. “Vickie told me not to worry, so I trust her skills.”
Ollie was speechless.
‘Seriously? Who in their right mind would trust something like that?‘ Ollie thought. ‘He’s lost it. Ever since he met Ms. Binder, Mr. Thornton has really gone off the deep end.’
Still in shock, Ollie heard Jackson calmly say, “If Vickie and I get into a wreck, just call an ambulance for us.”
‘Wait, does Mr. Thornton mean Ms. Binder is actually trying to crash on purpose?‘ Ollie thought.

Victoria kept a steady grip on the wheel, expertly dodging every obstacle in her path. She glanced at Jackson, who had just hung up the phone, looking totally calm. She couldn’t help but tease, “Jack, aren’t you afraid I might lose control and take you with me?”
Jackson slipped his phone away and smiled, totally relaxed. “Vickie, you value your life way too much to mess around. If you weren’t totally confident, you wouldn’t walk right into trouble like this.”
“Jack, you know me too well,” Victoria said, then checked the real–time location Mara sent her. She saw she was almost at Curtis’s location.
‘I wonder what kind of face Curtis will make when he sees the car he messed with coming right for him,’ Victoria thought. ‘He’ll definitely be terrified. Too late for regrets now, Curtis.‘
For some reason, watching Victoria’s car getting closer and closer, Curtis felt more and more uneasy.
Finally, he couldn’t help but think, ‘Who cares. If Victoria really is coming at me on purpose, like I’d

be scared of her.
Worst case, I’ll just take her out. Then Angelica won’t get bullied anymore, and nobody will dare mess with our family again.
Five minutes later, Victoria’s car pulled up right behind Curtis’s.
She squinted at the bright yellow Ferrari just ahead, then reminded Jackson, “Jack, hold on tight. Don’t let yourself get thrown out.”
“Do your thing, I’m right here with you, no matter how wild it gets,” Jackson said, clutching the overhead handle.
Victoria let out a whistle, floored it, and rammed right into Curtis’s car.
As the two cars smashed together, Victoria thought to herself, ‘Curtis, good luck.
Curtis had been keeping an eye on Victoria in his rearview mirror the whole time. When he realized she was actually gunning straight for him, he floored it and tried to swerve, but there was no time to escape.
“Damn it.” Curtis spat.
His car was flipped over before he could even react, and he was tossed around inside like laundry in a dryer.

er, how the hell did she know exactly where I was?‘
Too bad, he didn’t even have time to worry about any of that.
The next second, he blacked out completely.
Meanwhile, over in Victoria’s car, the flip actually brought the vehicle to a halt.
To anyone watching, it looked like a brutal crash, but Victoria had nailed the angle perfectly–her car only suffered some minor impact, nothing major.
“Jack, you okay?” Victoria asked, even though she’d gotten a few scrapes herself.
Jackson replied from the passenger seat, “Yeah, I’m fine. Just a slight concussion and a few scratches, nothing to worry about.”
“Pretty good, right?” Victoria said.

“Yeah, your skills are top–notch,” Jackson replied.
“But Jack, if we want to make this whole thing look bigger, I need you to play up your injuries a bit
Victoria said.
Jackson understood. She wanted to use the Thornton family’s position to press criminal charges against Curtis for his deliberate actions.
Vickie’s just too smart, Jackson thought.
“No problem, I’ll go along with whatever you want,” Jackson said with a grin.
“Alright, I’ll stick us both with a needle in a bit. Once we’re out cold, Ollie can handle the cleanup,” Victoria said.
“Okay,” Jackson replied.
With Jackson’s agreement, Victoria pulled out the medical tools she had hidden in her sleeve. She jabbed Jackson first, then herself.
Soon, their eyes grew heavy, everything started to blur, and before long, they both passed out.
As night settled in, darkness blanketed the city.
Moonlight spilled through the window, bathing Victoria in a silvery glow as she lay motionless on the hospital bed.
Daisy sat at her bedside, eyes full of tears, staring at Victoria’s pale face without blinking.
Suddenly, Victoria’s eyelashes trembled.
Daisy’s eyes went wide, and she hurried closer, anxious to see if Victoria was waking up.
When Victoria finally woke up, the first thing she saw was Daisy, eyes brimming with tears.
As soon as Daisy realized Victoria was awake, she jumped to her feet and turned anxiously toward Hector. “Victoria’s awake. Hector, she’s awake.”
Hector, who had been restlessly pacing by the window, rushed over in a panic, worry etched all over his face. “Victoria, how are you feeling?”
“Dad… Mom…” Victoria’s voice was barely more than a whisper.
She tried to sit up, pushing herself with trembling hands, but Daisy immediately leaned in, gently supporting her back. “Easy, sweetheart. Don’t pull on your wounds.”
Once she managed to sit up, Victoria rubbed her head. “I’m still feeling a bit woozy…”
