Chapter 91
Inside the ward, Simon stood by the window, watching Angelica in the garden below, talking on the phone with someone. He was lost in thought.
When Angelica was accusing Victoria earlier, she didn’t mention at all that Curtis was the one who went after Victoria first.
Is she really trying to protect Curtis, or is she just trying to redirect the hatred onto Victoria?” Simon wondered.
For some reason, Simon suddenly felt like he didn’t really know Angelica, the adopted sister he’d always thought was so innocent and kind.
Out of nowhere, Simon remembered what Victoria had said. She said that before she returned to the Binder family, someone had hired people to hurt her.
And most likely, that someone was Angelica.
That was why he’d asked Curtis, who was already digging into Victoria’s past, to check this out while he was at it. He had no clue if Curtis’s people had dug up anything yet.
Darell saw Simon standing by the window, gazing down at the garden, lost in thought. He walked over and asked, “You were there today. Is what Angelica said true?”
Simon paused, thinking it over before replying, “The meeting with Brightstar Entertainment’s important client really happened, and Victoria did show up. We ended up having a conflict with
her. But…”
Darell’s expression darkened. “But what?”
Simon hesitated for a moment, then decided to be honest. “Curtis didn’t come back with us. He made it clear he was going to settle things with Victoria, so…”
So, Curtis was the one who started it with Victoria.
But before Simon could finish, Darell raised his hand, cutting him off.
Darell warned his son seriously, “That’s enough. As long as the first part is true, that’s all that matters. The rest is irrelevant. No matter who you’re talking to–your grandfather or anyone else- don’t mention the rest.”
Simon’s lips parted, but he held back, saying nothing.
He got what his dad meant. If they admitted Curtis was the one who started it, then they wouldn’t really be in the right anymore.
In the end, he nodded. “I got it.”

Chapter 91
It was eight o’clock at night.
Daisy walked into the hospital room carrying the lunchbox Zoe had brought. She sat down and said, “Your dad just checked with the doctor. Curtis pulled through the emergency, but he’s still out cold. Whether he wakes up or not is really up to his own luck now,”
Victoria nodded. “I hope he wakes up.”
After a moment, she asked, “Which room is Curtis in?”
Daisy opened the lunchbox, set out the dishes, and handed Victoria the utensils. “He’s in the VIP suite, room 712, just upstairs. Come on, eat first. Don’t worry about anything else right now.
“And don’t even think about visiting Curtis because you feel guilty. Your uncle and aunt know you were the one who hit their son. They probably want to tear you apart at this point.”
Victoria took the utensils and nodded. “Yeah, I’m not about to walk into that mess by visiting Curtis.”
She wasn’t about to feel guilty. After all, Curtis was the one who wanted her dead in the first place.
But she still had her next move to make, and for that, she had no choice but to go see Curtis.
She wanted to show Curtis just how much of a fool he really was.
And for that plan to work, Curtis needed to be alive. Besides, she never really believed that crash would actually kill him.
Especially with Ollie still at the scene of the accident–he could clean things up immediately.
But given the situation, Curtis’s hospital room was bound to be watched day and night by his family or their people. Victoria knew she couldn’t just stroll in and make her next move. She’d have to figure out a way to lure everyone away from Curtis’s room first.
“Mom, do you ever think I’m just a troublemaker, that bringing me back has turned the Binder family upside down?” Victoria suddenly asked, pausing halfway through her meal.
Daisy, sitting beside her, was stunned for a moment and immediately put down the apple and fruit knife in her hands.
She said, “Victoria, your dad and I would never think that. How could you be a curse? You’re my daughter, my precious girl.
“If it weren’t for what Angelica’s mother did back then, you would’ve been the Binder family’s princess, growing up without a care in the world, surrounded by your parents and brothers…”
As she spoke, Daisy’s voice became choked up.

Daisy continued, “Besides, where’s all this chaos in the Binder family? You dad and dau foing jus fine. We’re getting older, and having you as our precious daughter just makes everything fo perfect.
“It’s only Darell’s family that’s a mess, but none of this is your fault. They totally brought it on themselves.”
Victoria flashed a wide grin and started wolling down the rest of her food
“Hey, slow down. Don’t choke,” Daisy said gently, worried the might mat too fast
“It’s so tasty, I just can’t help myself, Victoria said, munching away with a waisted stude
Daisy laughed at her stuffed cheeks, doting as she said, “Alright, as long as you’ve got an aggr that’s a good thing”
Watching Victoria look so satisfied, Daisy’s eyes started to well up again.
Not wanting Victoria to notice, she hurriedly grabbed the apple and fruit knife, keeping her head down as she went back to peeling,
Victoria was her daughter now. If Darell’s family was too cold–hearted to care for her, then she and Hector would make sure Victoria felt loyed.
Besides, it was always Darell’s family stirring up trouble for Victoria because of Angelica, their adopted daughter. Daisy had no reason to feel guilty about any of it.

After finishing her meal, and while her pretty new mom was out of the room, Victoria grabbed her phone and dialed Simon’s number.
It took a while before he finally picked up, and when he did, Simon’s voice came through, practically snarling through clenched teeth. “Victoria, you did this to Curtis, and you still have the guts to call me?”
Victoria said, “Why wouldn’t I? And I’m ordering you to clear out everyone from Curtis’s room right now.”
Simon said, “What the hell do you want?”
Victoria answered, “Nothing special, just want to check out how pathetic Curtis looks right now.”
“You…” Simon spat,
