Simon was totally lost for words. He opened his mouth, ready to argue back, but ended up shutting it, feeling helpless. He just couldn’t find a single solid reason to talk back to Calvin.

Simon thought, ‘All the signs pointed to it. Victoria was so outstanding, she made things happen that we all thought were impossible.

‘So, maybe Victoria really is Viara. It’s not out of the question at all. But why can’t I bring myself to believe it?‘

“Honestly, you guys are just prejudiced against Victoria, or maybe you just can’t handle admitting she’s so good, because that’d mean you have to eat your own words,” Calvin said.

He let out a sigh and turned to Victoria. “Victoria, are you really that famous novelist Viara that Simon keeps talking about?”

Simon looked extremely tense.

Just like Calvin said, Simon was dreading hearing Victoria confirm it.

Victoria glanced at Simon, knowing exactly what he was afraid of, and gave a calm, confident smile. “Calvin, I won’t hide it from you. I really am Viara.”

Victoria’s words crushed Simon’s last bit of hope.

This time, he didn’t question her at all. There was no way she’d lie to Calvin.

When it hit him, Simon could hardly believe it.

He thought, ‘Seriously? My own little sister is actually this amazing? If that’s really true, then my whole plan to snag Viara’s copyright is toast. There’s just no way.‘

Calvin could see the despair and frustration in Simon’s eyes. “Simon, do you finally get just how ridiculously wrong you were? And do you realize how off your parents and Curtis were, too?”

Those two questions made Simon feel so embarrassed he wished he could disappear.

But Calvin wasn’t finished with him yet. He hit Simon with an even harsher reality. “There’s something I haven’t told you. I’ve already promised Victoria.

“If you can’t deliver results this month, she’s taking over Brightstar Entertainment next month.”

Simon’s eyes widened in shock. “Grandpa…”

Simon knew Calvin’s style. He was always firm and straightforward, only cared about results, and never let emotions cloud his judgment.

Back when Victoria wasn’t around, even if Simon couldn’t pull off anything impressive at Brightstar Entertainment, Calvin only had him and Curtis as grandsons, so there was no other choice.

That meant Simon could just coast for a while and try to come up with another plan.

But now that Victoria was here, and she was shockingly talented in every way, Calvin would definitely be willing to gamble the Binder family’s future on her.

Daisy let out a sigh of relief. ‘So this was what Grandpa was getting at, she thought.

Simon deflated. “I get it, Grandpa.”

Just as he was about to leave, Victoria called out from behind him.

“Oh, and Simon, could you pass a message along to your dear sister, Angelica?” Victoria said.

“What message?” Simon replied, his voice flat and lifeless. He really didn’t have the energy for this right now.

Victoria smirked, “Just let her know that Oliver is actually the only heir of the Cooke family, one of the top clans in Benwig City.”

Simon was stunned, his jaw practically hitting the floor.

‘No way… Oliver is actually the Cooke family’s only heir?‘ Simon thought.

And it wasn’t just Simon; Calvin looked genuinely surprised too.

The Cooke family was on the same level as the Thornton family. Both were the elite powerhouses of Benwig City.

After Simon left, looking totally crushed, Calvin sighed and couldn’t help but say, “Victoria, I know you’ve got some resentment toward Darell’s family, but try not to go overboard.”

Victoria smiled. “Calvin, like I said, I never meant to destroy them -as long as they don’t mess with me first.”

“As long as you know your limits,” Calvin replied. The more impressive Victoria was, the less he felt qualified to lecture her.

He was starting to realize that Victoria wasn’t after the Binder family’s fortune at all. Even if she never inherited a thing, it wouldn’t affect her in the slightest.

Honestly, with all the rising stars in Benwig City, the Binder family needed someone like Victoria to stay undefeated.

“Even though you and Jackson didn’t get hurt much in that car accident, I’ll still check with the Thornton family about the engagement party–see if they want to postpone it,” Calvin said.

Victoria smiled. “I don’t think we need to postpone it. I bet Jackson thinks so too.”

Calvin was a bit surprised by her confidence, then chuckled helplessly. “You’re always so eager when you’re in love. Alright, I won’t bother you anymore. Your parents are here, so you’ll be well taken care of.”

Hector said seriously, “Daisy and I will take good care of Victoria.”

After Calvin left, Daisy finally let out a breath she’d been holding.

But she still couldn’t relax completely.

“I just hope some evidence in Mimiburg could show that Curtis tampered with your car. Otherwise, with your second aunt and her crew, they won’t rest until the whole car accident is cleared up,” Daisy said.

Hector gently patted Daisy’s shoulder to comfort her. “Don’t stress too much. I’ll have bodyguards outside Victoria’s hospital room 24/7 for the next couple of days. There’s no way they’ll get a chance to pull anything.”

“Alright,” Daisy replied, feeling a bit more reassured, though her anger still simmered. “If Curtis really messed with Victoria’s brakes, he had it coming if he got himself killed in the crash.”

Daisy nodded and smiled back. “Okay, you’re right. I’ll stay calm, no more getting angry.”

When Simon got back to the hospital room, Darell was waiting for him and didn’t waste any time. “So, what did Grandpa say?”

Simon’s face twisted in pain. He hesitated for a moment, then finally muttered, “Grandpa said if I can’t pull off anything this month, he’s giving Brightstar Entertainment to Victoria.”

He couldn’t even look his dad in the eye as he said it.

For Darell, that was a slap in the face, something he could never accept.-
