Ran Away Pregnant Came Back Alpha Heiress (Amelia and Damien) novel Chapter 167

Chapter 167

Claire’s POV

Damien left with his own transportation, seemingly not particularly caring how Victoria and I were getting home. Fortunately we had our own car, our own driver, but that he didn’t even stop to make sure was incredibly frustration.

Not as frustrating as the near exile from my own pack, however.

As Alpha, it was Damien’s right to cast any punishments he saw fit. Imprisonment, exile, or even death weren’t out of his authority. With the right influence, the punishments could be appealed to the Alpha King.

While my family was prominent enough to gain an audience with the King, his clear dismissal of me already likely meant he wouldn’t take much pity on me. He’d likely hold to Damien’s ruling.

Especially because I wasn’t exactly innocent in this. I had taken steps to implant myself as the next Luna, deposing Amelia in the pack as well as Damien’s heart.

Unfortunately, those carefully laid plans now seemed to be backfiring.

I might have been able to convince Damien to let me stay for a little while, for the baby’s sake if not for my own, but my fate and my future had a ticking clock. So long as I was pregnant, I could plot and plan. The minute the baby was born, if not shortly after, when I would be healthy again, I would be expected to leave.

Like I was some common criminal, and not the daughter of a prominent family, with the strongest genes in the pack.

Whether Amelia was a witch or not no longer matter. Whether Damien was ensorcelled or not didn’t matter either. What did matter now was finding a way to stay, conventionally or underhanded. There were no depths I wasn’t willing to go to, to save myself.

Leaving the courtyard, I found Victoria packing up our things in one of the rooms we had been assigned. I didn’t offer to help her. I was pregnant after all. Why should I strain myself when she was perfectly capable and willing to help out?

When she spotted me watching her from the doorway, she jumped.

“Oh, Claire. It’s just you.”

“Nervous, are you?” I asked.

“This whole place makes me jumpy,” she said. “I feel like I’ve time traveled.”

The Alpha King did have very specific taste. A historian, perhaps, he seemed drawn to the decadence of a bygone

era.

“And after what happened today…” she said.

“Damien’s gone now,” I said. “He can’t do anything else to me.”

“Still.” She turned and continued packing. After she finished placing my belongings in my suitcase, she moved to her own. “So much has happened…”

Coming into the room, I closed the door behind me, then approached Victoria where she was packing her suitcase on her half of the room.

She looked up at me and saw something on my face. “What’s wrong?”

1/2

Other than the obvious? I bit back the impatient retort. “I need you to help me with something.” Typically when asking for help, it was distasteful to be rude first. “Something serious.”

“Okay.” Victoria stopped packing.

Since Damien declared publically that he was going to exile me, I couldn’t exactly twist things how I wanted them. Not with so many witnesses. Especially when one of those witnesses was the Alpha King.

But that didn’t mean I was going to give up or roll over or anything else.

I was still going to be Luna. My child was still going to be heir.

No matter what I had to do to make that happen.

“We have to kill Amelia’s baby,” I said.

Victoria froze, her eyes as large as saucers. Then she closed them and shook her head. “I’m sorry. I must have misheard you. I thought you just said you wanted to kill an unborn baby, and -”
