Ran Away Pregnant Came Back Alpha Heiress (Amelia and Damien) novel Chapter 24

**TITLE: Night Whispers Forgotten Names – Colin Shah 24**

**Chapter 24**

**Claire POV**

I found myself staring incredulously at my best friend and sister-in-law, Victoria. “Are you really suggesting that we should…?” My voice trailed off, laden with disbelief and a hint of horror.

Was she truly implying that we should consider the unthinkable? To eliminate Amelia? To murder the Luna of our pack?

Victoria chuckled lightly, a sound that felt oddly out of place in the gravity of our conversation. “Of course not, Claire. We don’t even know where she is! But, you know, if things take a turn for the worse, it might be something we have to entertain.”

The shock of her words hit me like a cold wave, but as I processed them, I found that my initial horror was giving way to a troubling sense of clarity. If Amelia were gone, it would indeed untangle the web of complications that had ensnared us all.

“What I really meant was, why don’t we just spread the word that she’s dead? After all, she’s run away. It’s not like she’s going to waltz back into our lives anytime soon,” I proposed, my heart racing as the plan unfolded in my mind.

Tears that had once threatened to spill faded into the background as I contemplated this new strategy. In my frantic rush to Damien’s house, I had wished to eradicate Amelia from existence. Declaring her dead would be the perfect solution to erase her from the entire pack’s memory.

“That’s brilliant!” I exclaimed, laughter bubbling up within me. “If enough people believe she’s truly gone, Damien will have to cease this relentless search. And then, I can step into her role as Luna.”

With the chaos of emotions settling, I felt a surge of confidence and determination coursing through me. There was no way I would allow anyone to stand in the way of what I believed I deserved.

Victoria nodded, her eyes gleaming with shared ambition. “Exactly. And with the assistance of my beloved, we can intercept any news about Amelia before Damien even has a chance to hear it.”

Suddenly, having Ethan as my brother-in-law, the Alpha’s Beta, felt like the greatest stroke of luck imaginable. I was grateful that we had confided in him earlier. Ethan had promised to keep us updated before he relayed any information to Damien regarding Amelia.

And then, we could handle her ourselves.

Ethan stepped into the room, closing the door behind him with a soft click that seemed to echo in the silence. Instantly, my heart raced, and my stomach twisted with anxiety. I fought against the rising tide of dread, refusing to entertain the possibility of bad news—that Amelia had been found injured or worse. Yet, the fear coursed through me, unrelenting.

“I’m sorry, Alpha, but there’s nothing to report. No one has seen her,” he said, standing before my desk, his hands clasped behind his back like a soldier at ease. Ethan was indeed a soldier—my most trusted one—and I had unwavering faith in his loyalty.

If he claimed there was no news, I wanted to believe him. Yet, the notion that not a single trace of my wife could be found gnawed at me. Frustration bubbled up, and I slammed my pen down onto the desk in disgust.

“Unacceptable. We simply have to intensify our search!”

Ethan shifted his weight, his gaze dropping to the floor. “Alpha, the teams are already on the brink of exhaustion.”

“I don’t care!” I snapped, cutting him off, my voice rising in frustration. Taking a moment to breathe and regain my composure, I softened my tone. “I know I’m pushing them hard, but we need to act while her scent might still be fresh.”

The urgency of the situation weighed heavily on my shoulders, and I couldn’t shake the feeling that time was slipping away.
