**Chapter 306**

**Amelia’s POV**
In the ethereal realm of dreams, where reality blurs and the impossible becomes tangible, my mind was free from the weight of pressing questions. Instead, I reveled in the sheer bliss of the moment, allowing it to envelop me like a warm embrace.
Damien’s hand reached out, gentle yet deliberate, as he tucked a rebellious strand of hair behind my ear. His fingers brushed against my cheek, and I found myself instinctively leaning into his touch, savoring the intimacy of the gesture.
“Have you given any thought to my proposal?” he inquired, his voice a low murmur that sent ripples of anticipation through me.
I could hear my own voice responding, “The one where you asked me to run away with you to the werewolf realm? What would I even do there? I don’t know the first thing about werewolves.” My heart raced at the thought, a mixture of excitement and apprehension swirling within me.
“We’ll figure it out,” Damien assured me, his confidence unwavering. “But we’ll be together. Isn’t that enough?” His gaze held a promise, a certainty that made my heart flutter.
“It’s a risk,” I countered, my voice barely above a whisper, the weight of the decision pressing down on me.
“It’s love, Amelia. Give me the chance, and I will take care of you for the rest of your life…” His words hung in the air, a tantalizing promise that both thrilled and terrified me.
Suddenly, I blinked awake, sitting upright in bed, the remnants of the dream still vivid in my mind. Night had slipped away, giving way to the soft light of morning. Bewildered, I flopped back onto my pillow, staring at the ceiling, trying to grasp the strange dream that lingered like a shadow.
What a peculiar dream it had been.
Unlike the fleeting dreams that often faded into nothingness upon waking, this one clung to me, its details etched into my memory with startling clarity.
And those details left me in a state of confusion. Why in the world would I dream of being Amelia? Why was I on a date with Damien in the human realm? It was utterly nonsensical.
Yet, it felt so real, almost like a memory rather than a mere figment of my imagination. Surely, that couldn’t be the case.
But then again…
I recalled the moment I had taken Jeffery’s potion. He had insisted the effects would be immediate, yet to ease his worries, I had suggested that perhaps the memories would unfold gradually over time.
Yet, if this was a memory of my own, why was Damien calling me by Amelia’s name? And what was I doing in the human realm? As far as I knew, I had never set foot there.
Perhaps I was being foolish to entertain such thoughts. It was likely just a vivid dream, a product of my recent outing with Damien that had intertwined with my constant thoughts of Amelia.
It had to be just that—a dream.
The alternative, that it was a memory, was simply too far-fetched.
With a determined shake of my head, I pushed the thought aside, rose from my bed, and began my day.
**Damien’s POV**
The moment I stepped into my office that morning, the sight of an enormous stack of paperwork on my desk greeted me like an unwelcome intruder. Instantly, I knew it was going to be an arduous day. No sooner had I settled into my chair than Keegan entered, his expression laced with apology.
“What is all this?” I asked, my voice tinged with irritation as I gestured toward the mountain of papers.
“The pack council has decided they need everything signed in triplicate now,” Keegan explained, his tone apologetic. “They refuse to proceed with essential projects and maintenance without the proper filings.”
“When did this change occur?” I asked, my annoyance bubbling to the surface. Usually, the pack’s bureaucracy was somewhat manageable. I would identify what needed to be done, relay the message to the council, and they would handle the hiring of contractors and allocation of funds.
