Ran Away Pregnant Came Back Alpha Heiress (Amelia and Damien) novel Chapter 36

**Night Whispers Forgotten Names – Colin Shah**
**Chapter 36**

I refused to let him, or anyone else for that matter, impede my quest any longer.

While the others I had enlisted scoured the territory in search of Amelia, I set my sights firmly on the Alpha’s residence. Even if Amelia wasn’t physically present within those walls, I was certain he held the key to her whereabouts. I would not leave until he provided me with the answers I desperately sought.

With a fierce determination, I rapped my knuckles against the door, the sound echoing in the stillness of the night. When a servant answered, I didn’t wait for an invitation; I shouldered past him with a force that mirrored the tempest of rage and frustration that had been building within me for weeks. The very thought of burning this place to the ground flickered in my mind like a wild flame, and I was prepared to unleash that fury if necessary.

“Where is your Alpha?” I demanded, my voice a low growl as I strode through the house, each step fueled by urgency. “He will speak with me at once.”

Then, as if the air itself had shifted, I caught a whiff of Amelia’s scent. It was faint but unmistakable, and I followed it like a moth drawn to a flame. I stepped into a spacious living room dominated by an imposing fireplace, where Jake and his family stood waiting. But more importantly, the aroma of Amelia was now much stronger, wrapping around me like a long-lost embrace.

She’s here. Finally. My wolf stirred restlessly within me, yearning to be reunited with his mate, the bond between us a pulsing ache in my chest.

Jake took a step forward, his posture tense yet alert, a protective barrier in front of his family. He was ready, it seemed, to defend them against whatever I might unleash.

“You have no right to search our pack like this,” he warned, his tone icy. I had encountered him at Council meetings on several occasions and had always held a measure of respect for him. But now, I was forced to reevaluate.

In this moment, I had to see him as a potential adversary. If it came to blows, I would fight him without hesitation, no matter the consequences.

“You’re pushing your luck, Damien. This could ignite a war.”

I narrowed my gaze, scrutinizing his body language for any signs of weakness. Would he be the first to strike if it came to that?
