Chapter 371
Amelia’s POV
What had I done to deserve any of it? Nothing, other than having been raised among humans.
They saw me as lesser, as broken and inferior, even now after having been with Damien for so many years, while we were raising two kids together.
Frankly, I was sick of it. I was at my wits end. In the past, I would have turned the other cheek, trying to be kind even when people were being rude to me. Maybe I had believed the things they had said about me back then, thinking that I didn’t deserve to be here, to be loved by Damien, to be a Luna for a pack of werewolves.
But now I’m proved to be a werewolf too and came from an Alpha family.
And it had been six years. Even if I didn’t remember, I knew, by now, I should have earned my place.
I was done allowing myself to be talked to in this way, to be treated like I wasn’t someone worthy of the respect. of my station.
And maybe, I could have stood for it this time, except right now, she was including my child in her disrespect. That was way too far.
“Truly,” Mrs. Myers continued, unaware of the fire she was starting inside of me. “If you don’t know how to raise a werewolf properly, I could give you some lessons –
“There is nothing wrong with Stacy,” I snapped, keenly aware of the girl next to me. “Nor is there anything wrong with the way I parent my children. I raise proud daughters who aren’t afraid to speak up for what is right. In this case, you were wrong, and she was giving you the correct answer.”
“That’s not -”
“I’m talking now, not you,” I said, cutting her off. “Perhaps instead of questioning my parentage, you should be more open to accepting your own faults.”
Her face turned red with anger.
“I would like my child returned to her classes now,” I said. Leaning to the side, I looked around the teacher to the principal. “And I would like her placed in an alternative class to Mrs. Myers.”
“This is ridiculous,” Mrs. Myers snapped. “I refuse to be berated by this… this…” She gestured to me.
I glared at her but allowed her to finish. The guards behind me were tensing. If she wanted to dig her own grave here, I was going to let her. Why stop her?
“You don’t deserve to be Luna, even if you now have an Alpha family, you were raised among humans.” Mrs. Myers said.
“I’d ask you not to say these things in front of my child,” I said. “And I won’t tolerate being disrespected any longer.”
The principal stood and came to the door. “Mrs. Myers, come into my office. We are going to discuss your teaching contract.”
1/2
Mrs. Myers paled. “But…”
“Luna Amelia,” the principal said to me, dipping his head in apology. “I am sorry you had to deal with this here today. Rest assured, Mrs. Myers will no longer be employed here beyond today.”
“But I –!”
“You should be quiet,” the principal snapped at her. “The Luna is being kind in not having you charged or punished for so blatantly disrespecting her.”
“Mrs. Myers, please come back inside. Luna Amelia, you are free to go. Stacy, please return to your appropriate class.”
“But-“Mrs. Myers said.
“Now, please,” the principal said.
Mrs. Myers frowned even deeper than before. The principal bowed to me in acknowledgement, and then both of them disappeared into the office.
“You corrected a child who was trying to give you the correct answer?” the principal said, loud enough to be heard through the door. “And you disrespected the Luna? What could you possibly be thinking?”
I held my arms open for Stacy, she rushed toward me and accepted the hug.
