Ran Away Pregnant Came Back Alpha Heiress (Amelia and Damien) novel Chapter 64

**Night Whispers Forgotten Names – Colin Shah**
**Chapter 64**

**Amelia’s POV**

Seated in the examination room, I felt a tempest of emotions swirling within me, a potent blend of excitement and trepidation. My eyes darted between Healer Eve and Dr. Wyatt as they engaged in a courteous exchange, their professional rapport palpable in the air. It was fascinating to witness their interaction; despite being recent acquaintances, there was a mutual respect that shimmered between them, evident in the firm handshakes and the way their eyes lit up with admiration for each other’s knowledge.

“Your recent paper on prenatal care was quite enlightening, Dr. Wyatt,” Eve remarked, her voice imbued with warmth, as if she were expressing heartfelt gratitude for a long-awaited revelation.

“Thank you, Eve. Your groundbreaking research on werewolf genetics has opened up so many avenues for us,” Dr. Wyatt responded, a note of pride coloring his words, as if he were acknowledging a shared journey of exploration and discovery.

Once I reclined on the examination bed, a sudden chill enveloped me, the coldness of the ultrasound gel sending a shiver racing through my body. Eve began to glide the wand over my abdomen, her focus unwavering as she scrutinized the monitor. Dr. Wyatt leaned in closer, his sharp gaze darting between the screen and Eve’s concentrated expression, both of them immersed in the depths of their professional analysis.

“Ah, yes… I can certainly see the source of your concerns,” Dr. Wyatt finally spoke, his voice steady yet tinged with a hint of unease, sending my heart into a frantic race.

“Is there something wrong?” I blurted out, my pulse quickening with every syllable. The uncertainty gnawed at me, a relentless beast, especially since I had been left in the dark about what Eve and Lillian had previously observed. Eve had insisted on waiting for more information before revealing anything, and now, with Dr. Wyatt in the room, I felt an urgent need for clarity, a desperate plea for understanding.

“Yes,” Dr. Wyatt confirmed, his brow furrowing slightly, the weight of his words hanging heavily in the air. “However… this isn’t quite what I anticipated.”

Eve nodded in agreement, her expression serious. “That’s precisely why I sought your expertise,” she said, her voice steady yet laced with an undercurrent of concern that mirrored my own.

“It’s indeed unusual,” Dr. Wyatt echoed, his eyes still glued to the screen, as if he were searching for answers hidden in the shadows of the monitor.

Frustration bubbled within me, and I could no longer contain it. “Can someone please just tell me what’s happening with my baby?” I implored, my voice trembling with anxiety, each word a plea for reassurance.

Both healers turned to me, surprise etched on their faces, as if they had forgotten I was even there for a moment.

“Oh, Amelia, I truly apologize,” Dr. Wyatt said, his tone softening, the warmth of his empathy washing over me like a soothing balm. “Yes, of course. Let me explain.”

Eve mirrored his expression of contrition, her eyes filled with understanding that soothed my frayed nerves.

“When I say this isn’t what I was expecting, I mean that I had anticipated the child might exhibit some weaknesses. Given the human lineage, there should have been certain vulnerabilities present. But in your baby’s case…” Dr. Wyatt trailed off, glancing at Eve for support, as if seeking confirmation of his thoughts.

Eve interjected, her voice full of conviction, as if she were delivering a revelation. “There’s no sign of weakness whatsoever. None at all. From what we can ascertain, the baby is growing robustly, exhibiting strength reminiscent of a werewolf pup.”

A flicker of hope ignited within me at her words, a small flame in the darkness of my fears. “But… how is that possible?” I questioned, my mind racing with a whirlwind of thoughts. “I was worried that the human side would conflict with the werewolf side.”

Dr. Wyatt nodded thoughtfully, his expression serious. “That was a valid concern, Amelia. Such a conflict could lead to complications. However, while we’re not entirely out of the woods yet, seeing the baby thriving—so distinctly werewolf—is indeed encouraging.”
