**TITLE: Night Whispers Forgotten Names – Colin Shah 7**
**CONTENT: Chapter 7**
As we stepped out of Dr. Wyatt’s office, she grasped my hand with a warmth that sent a shiver down my spine. I felt an overwhelming urge to cry, her simple gesture resonating deeply within me. She had assured me that I had friends, but in my heart, I knew she was the only one who had ever genuinely cared for my well-being.
The journey home was steeped in an uncomfortable silence, the air thick with unspoken words. My thoughts raced like wild horses, half-formed plans swirling in my mind about how I could escape, where I might find refuge, and what kind of life I could forge for myself and my child. Yet, a nagging doubt lingered—was Damien bringing me home a sign that something had shifted? Did he want to stay with me after all?
Finally, breaking the oppressive silence, Damien spoke, his voice steady but laced with a hint of tension. “I need you to know that I’ve taken action against Jeremy for the way he treated you. He’s been expelled from the pack, cast out as a rogue. He will never reclaim his place among us.”
The gravity of being cast out from the pack weighed heavily on my heart. I could see the discomfort etched on Damien’s face as he mentioned rogues. They were the pariahs of the werewolf community, left to navigate a harsh world alone, their desperation palpable.
“No one will ever dare to treat you, our Luna, with such disrespect again,” he added, his tone a mix of determination and reassurance.
It was an olive branch, but bitterness seeped into my veins.
“It’s going to take more than punishing a guard to mend the damage done,” I replied, my voice soft yet resolute. “As long as Claire and her child are part of the equation, I will always be relegated to the sidelines. People will continue to find ways to make my life unbearable, just as they have since I arrived here.”
I turned to face him, my heart pounding in my chest.
“There will only be more conflicts between us as the child grows and you devote more of your time to your new family,” I stated, unable to suppress the bitter twist in my mouth at the mention of those words.
“And when things inevitably worsen for me while you’re busy with the Council and building your new life—will you truly still care about my well-being and how I am treated?” I challenged, my eyes searching his for answers.
A frown creased his brow, a flicker of frustration crossing his features. “So, what do you want from me?”
Taking a deep breath, I steadied myself, knowing this was a pivotal moment. I was not one to issue ultimatums lightly, but I felt cornered with no other recourse.
