Ready to Rule: The Real Heiress Strikes Back novel Chapter 1066

Standing next to Mr. Lowe was a woman with puffy red eyes, dressed in a crisp housekeeper’s uniform. She looked to be in her forties or fifties, but she’d clearly taken good care of herself. No wonder she’d managed to win over Mr. Lowe.

“Sir, please,” Tracysaid gently. “All I want is to stay by your side. There’s no need to make things hard for your son and daughter-in-law.”

But her words only made Mr. Lowe more stubborn. He grabbed her hand and said, “Tracy, don’t worry. You’re with me now, so I’ll take responsibility. We’re definitely getting married.”

Everyone else just stared, completely at a loss.

Lincoln looked up at the ceiling and started smacking his own forehead, over and over. Seriously, he was at his limit.

Lydia walked in, carrying her medical kit. Before she could get close, Mr. Lowe shot her a glare. “Who told you to come over? Go away. I’m perfectly fine. I don’t need a doctor.”

Lydia arched an eyebrow. “Let me just check your pulse. See how strong you are. If you need it, I’ll write you something to help build you up. You’re getting married, right? If you want to keep your new wife happy, you’d better make sure your health is up to it.”

The whole room went silent.

Lincoln’s jaw dropped. He couldn’t believe Lydia actually said that.

Both Mr. Lowe and Tracy were stunned, shocked that someone so young could be so direct.

Lydia set her kit on the table next to Mr. Lowe. He huffed, “I know my own body, thank you very much.”

He glanced at Tracy. “And Tracy knows it too.”

Tracy’s cheeks turned bright red as she lowered her head.

Everyone else just stood there, speechless. Seriously, what was happening?

Lydia shrugged. “But what if nobody else believes you? I’m a doctor. If I check your pulse and tell everyone you’re fine, they’ll stop worrying. No more fussing about doctors.”
