Ready to Rule: The Real Heiress Strikes Back novel Chapter 1108

Lincoln’s head was spinning. He glanced at Lydia and asked, “Not even my parents can know?”

Lydia nodded. “Not right now. Every extra person who knows means a bigger risk.”

Lincoln groaned, dragging his hands through his hair. He looked at Lydia again. “What about Marian? Is there a chance she’s been replaced too?”

Lydia frowned, annoyed with herself for not thinking to check on Marian earlier. “It’s possible. You have to keep an eye on everyone, but don’t let them notice. If they catch on, things will get a lot worse.”

A heavy sense of dread settled over Lincoln. He nodded. “Alright.”

When they left the Lowe estate, Juna felt like she was walking through a dream. She glanced at Lydia. “Should I go home and check up on my grandpa?”

Lydia raised an eyebrow. “He’s acting weird?”

“Not that I’ve noticed.” Juna paused, then threw the question back at Lydia. “What about your grandpa?”

Lydia hesitated, then shrugged it off. “I’m exhausted. Let’s go home and get some sleep.”

Juna sighed, checking the time. It was almost two in the morning. “Fine, fine. It’s late. Time to call it a night.”

They were just about to get in their cars when Lydia caught a flash of movement out of the corner of her eye. She snapped her head toward the bushes nearby. Sure enough, two figures were crouched in the shadows.

Those two were the tails Grace had sent after Lydia. They’d missed her going into the estate, but spotted her car and waited for hours, hoping to snap a few pictures for Grace. They’d been hiding there, thinking they were clever, but now they’d been caught trying to get just a couple more photos.

If they’d known this would happen, they never would have pushed their luck.

“Go, go!” one of them hissed.
