Ready to Rule The Real Heiress Strikes Back (Lydia and Connor) novel Chapter 1119

Lydia thought about telling Kylie and Cameron the truth, but then she realized that spending every day under the same roof as Mr. Norwood made it too risky. They might slip up and let something important out.

After turning it over in her mind, Lydia figured it was best to talk to Blake first. He’d know what to do. But tonight was already too late for any serious conversation.

She still had to head back to school tomorrow, but she could deal with that easily. For now, she just sent Blake a quick text. [Blake, will you be at the office tomorrow? I need to talk to you about something.]

When Blake was in work mode, he pretty much lived in the executive suite at the company. Unless something urgent happened at home, he barely left the office. He also kept a private villa close to Norwood Enterprises, just in case.

Tonight, he was still working late. No surprise there. He didn’t have a girlfriend, and he never cared for clubbing or parties. Blake was the definition of a workaholic.

So when Lydia’s message popped up, it caught him off guard. She rarely reached out unless it was important.

He texted back right away. [Sure. Should I come home, or will you come to the office?]

Lydia replied, [I’ll come to your office. Are you free in the morning?]

Blake’s mood instantly lifted. [I am. See you tomorrow morning.]

Jonas, who was bringing dinner to Blake, couldn’t believe it when he saw Blake smiling so softly. For a second, he wondered if Blake had actually fallen in love.

As that idea struck him, Blake looked up and said, “Jonas, go pick up some snacks and treats girls like. And grab a few trendy gifts for girls too. Leave them in my office.”

Jonas froze, his eyes going wide. Was this really happening? Was Blake dating someone for real?

Blake noticed Jonas just standing there, looking stunned, and gave him a look that said he was being ridiculous. “What are you staring at? Did you hear me? Go do it.”

“Understood, sir! I’ll take care of everything.”

The next morning, Lydia drove herself to school.

Lucinda watched from her car, lips pursed in annoyance. Was Lydia just trying to show off her luxury car to everyone at school? As if she was the only one with an expensive ride.

Lucinda had a fancy car too, but she knew that real heiresses always had chauffeurs. Except for the rare day she met friends, she always let the family driver take her places. It was all about appearances, and she wasn’t about to let people forget she was the richest girl in school.

Lydia didn’t care what Lucinda thought. She just pulled out of the driveway and headed straight for Norwood Enterprises.

Lucinda, still watching from her own car, realized Lydia was taking a completely different route. She started to panic and said to the driver, “Did Lydia take a wrong turn? That’s not the way to school. Why isn’t she going to class this morning?”
