Juna and Lincoln both froze in shock.
Lincoln leaned in, keeping his voice low. “Even Mrs. Bland has been swapped?”
“We don’t actually know who’s been replaced yet. That’s why I’m here, to dig a little deeper,” Lydia replied.
Boris and his team were deep into research, working on a drug that could control the clones. It would block the chip’s detection system, and the clones wouldn’t even notice. When they were ready to strike, they could catch all the clones at once.
Lydia’s job was to sniff out who the clones were and somehow get them to take the drug without anyone catching on.
The three of them kept their voices down, but they couldn’t help overhearing a few ladies nearby gossiping about Krista.
“I heard Krista’s been left behind at the old Bland estate. She’s so sick, she’s barely hanging on.”
“Seriously, it’s pathetic. The Bland family really has no shame. Krista’s not even dead, and the mistress has already moved in. Victoria just lets it happen.”
“She probably wishes Krista would just die already. You have no idea how badly she used to treat her. They had maids, but she’d make Krista bring her water and wash her feet every single day.”
“No way, that’s awful!”
“And all because Krista couldn’t give her a son. She just let her own son mess around outside, and in the end, the other woman only had a daughter too. Serves them right.”
“Yeah, Krista’s honestly a good person. When Erik started his company, he only made it because the Rock family helped out. Then he got rich and just forgot all about them. Victoria’s no better. Krista was so good to her, but she always made things difficult. When Gianna showed up and fought with her a few times, she finally backed off. Then she teamed up with Gianna to make Krista’s life hell. Now Krista’s stuck all alone in that old house. It’s just too sad.”
Most of these ladies were wives themselves and couldn’t help but feel for Krista.
Juna was so mad she slapped her hand on the table. “They’re absolute monsters.”

Olha a história bem boa só algumas coisas são chatas ( nesse tipo de história sempre troca as filhas pela a da empregada ou então pegam uma menina pra criar) pelo menos eles tratam a filha bem só enche o saco que até agora a Lucinda tá lá enchendo ! Fora isso tá bom Connor é um fofo a família dela a ama muito só Lucinda pra abaixar o nível do livro já era pra ter resolvido isso e fazer ela pagar mais tudo bem li um livro chinês que era parecido só algumas coisas diferentes ,ais mesma coisa tipo ela salvou o Connor no início lá ela salvava o avô dele , no chinês ela não tinha um irmão mais novo com os pais adotivos , a mãe dela tinha 2 irmãos e todos os avós estavam vivos mais história quase igual e tem coisas tipo o triângulo que lá TB tinha até a Lucinda que no chines TB ficou o livro todo aprontando só no final a família descobria e se livrava dela aí ela ia morar com o cara que ela usa pra disfarçar que não gosta do Connor aí depois ainda quase matava a irmã dele e a mãe dele que ele via como ela era...
