Ready to Rule The Real Heiress Strikes Back (Lydia and Connor) novel Chapter 1181

Krista accepted the medicine like it was something priceless, squeezing it in her palm. She nodded, her gratitude clear in her eyes. “Thank you so much.”

Lincoln waited outside, standing guard. Inside, Juna stayed by Lydia’s side, ready to help.

Half an hour later, the acupuncture was done.

Krista hadn’t felt this light and free since she got sick. It was like a weight she’d carried for ages had finally lifted.

“You’re just incredible,” she said, awe mixing with relief. “I can’t believe you’re this skilled at your age.”

The reality barely felt real. Was she dreaming? It felt like the universe had finally heard her desperate prayers and sent Lydia as her miracle.

Juna grinned. “Right? There are people who would give anything just to meet her.”

Krista really was lucky. Meeting Lydia almost felt like fate.

Once she was dressed, Krista turned to Lydia with a new seriousness. “How can I help you?”

The last time they’d spoken, Krista doubted she could do anything, not with how weak she was. But now she had hope. She believed Lydia could truly heal her, and for that, she’d do anything.

Lydia smiled gently. “We need your help with something important.”

Krista’s curiosity spiked. “What is it?”

“It’s about Erik.”

Krista’s eyes widened. “He… did he hurt you too?”

Lydia nodded, satisfied. “Then for the next month, just focus on getting your strength back. Don’t let them see any change in you before you’ve fully recovered. We can’t let them have another chance to hurt you.”

Krista’s hands tightened into fists. “I understand. Thank you. This time, I won’t let the Bland family hurt me again. I’ll make them give back everything that belongs to me.”

“One more thing. You can’t tell anyone about this. Not even your daughter,” Lydia reminded her.

Krista’s relationship with her daughter was strained, and Lydia was worried unexpected trouble could come up, so she made her promise.

Thinking of her daughter sent a fresh wave of pain through Krista. That girl wasn’t really her daughter anymore. Her eyes stung as she looked at Lydia.

“Don’t worry. I won’t breathe a word to anyone.”
