“You and Connor grew up together, you’ve been engaged forever. Not like that shameless girl from Maple Town, throwing herself at the Jeffersons just to get married in.”
Lucinda loved this kind of attention. After a bit of small talk, she quickly realized their real motive. Every one of them wanted to marry someone from the Jefferson family, and all eyes were on Mikey.
Who could blame them? Connor was already promised to the Norwoods, Chris was still off partying and not looking to settle down, but Mikey was different. He was young, already the head of his department at the Justice Ministry, and everyone said he’d be promoted to deputy minister soon. His future was limitless.
So when the mayor’s daughter from Maple Town asked Mikey out tonight, all these girls felt threatened. Now they were hoping Lucinda could give them Mikey’s contact info, since she was basically his future sister-in-law.
Except Lucinda didn’t have anything to give. Connor had deleted her ages ago, and Samuel barely acknowledged her now. She was barely keeping herself afloat, let alone able to help them.
“I do have his number,” Lucinda said with a polite smile, “but I really can’t give it out without his permission. I hope you understand.”

Olha a história bem boa só algumas coisas são chatas ( nesse tipo de história sempre troca as filhas pela a da empregada ou então pegam uma menina pra criar) pelo menos eles tratam a filha bem só enche o saco que até agora a Lucinda tá lá enchendo ! Fora isso tá bom Connor é um fofo a família dela a ama muito só Lucinda pra abaixar o nível do livro já era pra ter resolvido isso e fazer ela pagar mais tudo bem li um livro chinês que era parecido só algumas coisas diferentes ,ais mesma coisa tipo ela salvou o Connor no início lá ela salvava o avô dele , no chinês ela não tinha um irmão mais novo com os pais adotivos , a mãe dela tinha 2 irmãos e todos os avós estavam vivos mais história quase igual e tem coisas tipo o triângulo que lá TB tinha até a Lucinda que no chines TB ficou o livro todo aprontando só no final a família descobria e se livrava dela aí ela ia morar com o cara que ela usa pra disfarçar que não gosta do Connor aí depois ainda quase matava a irmã dele e a mãe dele que ele via como ela era...
