“Lydia, did you see the mayor’s daughter from Maple Town at the party last night?” Grandpa Samuel asked.
Lydia nodded. “Yeah, we met.”
“So, what do you think of her?”
Lydia hesitated. “Grandpa, I really don’t know her that well. I can’t say.”
Grandpa Samuel shot a look at Mikey and let out a heavy sigh. “He is so careless. He didn’t even realize someone else was in the room. Now she’s claiming he ruined her reputation, and there’s no way he can talk his way out of this.”
Mikey stayed quiet, looking a little lost.
Grandpa Samuel honestly just wanted his grandsons to settle down and give him a few great-grandkids. But Miss Brown’s behavior… for a man who’d always valued integrity, it was hard for him to accept.
“If she really liked Mikey, she could have just been open about it, gone after him the right way. I would’ve even helped her out. But now…”
He shook his head, clearly frustrated.
“Her approach really wasn’t that clever,” Lydia said.
“Miss Brown keeps saying she wants to marry him, and now everyone knows about it. If rumors start spreading that Mikey did that to her, it’ll be bad for his reputation, maybe even his job.”
Lydia nodded. “Exactly. Maybe he should just go along with it for now. We can figure things out later. Who knows, something unexpected might come up.”
Grandpa Samuel looked confused. “What do you mean by that…”
Mikey finally spoke up, turning to Lydia. “Yesterday, you said there was something off about the Brown family and told me to just go with it for now. What’s really going on?”
“There’s definitely a big problem. It’s complicated. If we make one wrong move, it could mess everything up. I need to look into it more before I can explain.”
“You…” Mona was furious, nearly stomping her foot, but Mrs. Brown caught her before she could say anything more.
“Mona, that’s enough. Say hello to Grandpa Samuel.”
Mona forced a smile and turned to Grandpa Samuel. “Hello, Grandpa Samuel. I’m Mona. I’m sure you’ve heard about me.”
Grandpa Samuel finally got to meet her in person. She was beautiful, that much was obvious. But her attitude… He could only shake his head. She was too entitled, too dismissive of everyone else.
Still, remembering Lydia’s earlier words, he managed a small laugh. “Mrs. Brown, Miss Brown, please, have a seat.”
He called someone to bring some coffee and snacks.
Satisfied with Grandpa Samuel’s politeness, Mrs. Brown sat down and gave him an apologetic look. “Mr. Jefferson, I’m sorry for coming over unannounced. But after what happened between Mona and Mikey, as her parents, we can’t just sit by and do nothing. I hope you understand.”

done reading lydia's story. thank you for sharing it....
thank u!...

the next upload is exciting. i cant wait....
Every chapter is missing a sentence from the end of every chapter. It’s frustrating to try guess what’s missing or said...
