Cameron strode over, his voice tight with anger. “They’re heartless. Your mother trusted them all these years, and this is what they do?”
Byron swallowed, then spoke up. “Mr. Norwood, Mrs. Norwood, it’s lucky Miss Norwood can handle herself. Otherwise… I don’t even want to think about what could have happened.”
Cameron and Kylie’s faces darkened. “What do you mean? What else did they do?”
Byron glanced at Lydia, suddenly realizing the Norwoods didn’t know the whole story. Cameron and Kylie saw it too. Lydia was hiding something. They wasted no time and started pressing Byron for answers.
As they learned the truth, that Parker and Rose had been working with other executives to cut corners, cook the books, and steal from the company, pocketing billions over the years… and then, when they got caught, tried to kidnap their daughter… Kylie and Cameron could hardly believe it.
They hired more than twenty men to hurt their daughter, then planned to sell her off to human traffickers?

By the time Byron finished, Cameron and Kylie were shaking, their hands clenched in rage.
“Those animals! How dare they touch my daughter!” Cameron exploded, storming straight toward the police station.
Lydia quickly turned to Byron. “Go after my dad. Make sure he doesn’t do anything crazy.”
“Got it!” Byron nodded, chasing after Cameron.
They didn’t need a murder charge on top of everything else.
Kylie was so furious her chest hurt. Lydia gently rubbed her mother’s back. “Mom, I’m okay. Please don’t let yourself get sick over this.”
“You could have just been greedy, but you had to go and hurt my daughter!”
Cameron’s rage poured out with every punch, his voice echoing in the room. He’d never been this furious in his entire life.
He’d always known Parker and Rose were lining their pockets. That, he could almost forgive. But coming after his daughter? Absolutely unforgivable.
“You wanted to hurt my daughter? Rot in prison, for the rest of your miserable life!”
Parker, half conscious and bleeding, stared up at him through red, swollen eyes. “What did you say? Lydia… she’s your daughter?”
Cameron, breathing hard, landed one final punch. “That’s right.”
Parker’s shock was written all over his face. Fighting through the pain, he asked, “Is she your goddaughter?”

Olha a história bem boa só algumas coisas são chatas ( nesse tipo de história sempre troca as filhas pela a da empregada ou então pegam uma menina pra criar) pelo menos eles tratam a filha bem só enche o saco que até agora a Lucinda tá lá enchendo ! Fora isso tá bom Connor é um fofo a família dela a ama muito só Lucinda pra abaixar o nível do livro já era pra ter resolvido isso e fazer ela pagar mais tudo bem li um livro chinês que era parecido só algumas coisas diferentes ,ais mesma coisa tipo ela salvou o Connor no início lá ela salvava o avô dele , no chinês ela não tinha um irmão mais novo com os pais adotivos , a mãe dela tinha 2 irmãos e todos os avós estavam vivos mais história quase igual e tem coisas tipo o triângulo que lá TB tinha até a Lucinda que no chines TB ficou o livro todo aprontando só no final a família descobria e se livrava dela aí ela ia morar com o cara que ela usa pra disfarçar que não gosta do Connor aí depois ainda quase matava a irmã dele e a mãe dele que ele via como ela era...
