Was Corbyn trying to take his place?
Allen barely had time to process the thought before Emmitt’s cold voice cut through the tension. “We told him to call you. Mr. Reeves, the First Squad is taking over your niece’s case.”
Allen’s mind went blank for a second.
They were here… because of Louise’s case?
But how did they even know about it? Was that girl someone special? Maybe her identity wasn’t as simple as it seemed. Otherwise, why would she attract the attention of the First Squad?
“Officer, wait. My niece’s situation is all just a misunderstanding,” Allen tried to explain.
“There’s nothing more to say. If you want to talk, save it for later.”
“No, please, officer, just hear me out, please…” Allen’s protest faded as they snapped the handcuffs on him.
“I’m innocent! You’ve got the wrong guy. Someone’s framing me, trying to ruin my career. You have to believe me—I’m being set up!” he shouted, his voice desperate.
His pleas went ignored. The two bunny girls, now in regular clothes, were also led to a police car. The entire club was cordoned off for investigation.
Within minutes, chaos erupted. People crowded the street, whispering and guessing what had happened.
“This club should’ve been shut down ages ago. They’re always up to no good. I caught my husband here twice already. Hmph, finally, they closed it for good!” one woman complained.
“Right? I warned my husband, too. If he ever comes to this filthy place again, I’ll break his legs,” another chimed in.
The man was Cian, Miranda’s husband.
Moments earlier, he’d been inside the club. When the police cars arrived, he’d trusted his gut and slipped out the back. Sure enough, not long after, he spotted his brother-in-law being led out in cuffs.
Meanwhile, Miranda was still at home, waiting for good news from Allen. She never imagined that instead of her brother calling, it would be her husband—who almost never came home—calling instead.
At first, she was happy, thinking maybe he missed her or the family. But the moment she answered, he hit her with the news about Allen.
She couldn’t believe it. “How is that possible, Cian? Allen just called me. How could anything have happened to him?”
Cian’s reply was sharp and angry. “I saw him being taken away by the police with my own eyes. I mean it—if the police come asking, you know nothing. If you bring any trouble to the Stein family, I’ll divorce you on the spot.”

the next chapter is exciting...
the next upload is exciting. i cant wait....
Every chapter is missing a sentence from the end of every chapter. It’s frustrating to try guess what’s missing or said...
