Ready to Rule: The Real Heiress Strikes Back novel Chapter 260

Connor had actually arrived a little earlier. He saw what was happening and waited quietly behind a nearby car, watching for the right moment to step in. He never thought Leroy would really go after an innocent person. The guy was a total monster.

Connor’s kick nearly broke Leroy, but when you’re fighting for your life, pain hardly matters. Leroy scrambled up, waving his knife in every direction. “Move! All of you, get out of my way!”

Connor’s eyes went cold. He didn’t care about the knife at all. He knocked Leroy down again, then pressed him hard to the ground, making sure he couldn’t move.

“Let go of me! Let go!” Leroy thrashed around, but Connor’s grip was unbreakable. He couldn’t get free no matter how hard he tried.

“You like stabbing people so much?” Connor’s voice was icy. “How about you see what that feels like yourself?”

He grabbed Leroy’s right hand, still clutching the knife, and shoved it straight into Leroy’s left hand, not hesitating for a second.

Leroy screamed. The pain was blinding. The knife went right through his hand and into the concrete. He tried to pull away, but that only made it worse. Blood poured out, fast and heavy.

With Leroy under control, Lydia didn’t waste another second. She rushed over to Violette, who was lying on the ground, bleeding badly.

One look and Lydia knew it was serious. The blood was pouring from Violette’s neck. Her white dress was already stained red, and the bleeding just wouldn’t stop. It was almost as if it would never end.

Jordyn, the Davis family’s driver, was pale with fear, crying as he begged, “Miss, please, you have to be okay…” He looked completely lost, terrified of what he’d tell her parents if something happened.

“Don’t move her,” Lydia said quickly, dropping to her knees beside Violette. She barely needed to check. There was way too much blood. The wound was deep, probably a severed artery.

Just then, someone else ran over and knelt beside her. “She’s in critical condition. We need to stop the bleeding and get her to the hospital now.”

On the drive, Garrett told Jordyn to call Mercy Hospital and tell them what happened, making sure the operating room would be ready when they arrived. It bought them a little more time.

When the hospital staff saw Violette’s injuries, everyone looked serious.

“Her situation is too serious. There’s really nothing we can do,” one of the nurses said quietly.

Dr. Donley, the head surgeon on duty, checked Violette over, shaking his head as he examined the wound.

Her main artery was probably completely severed. Even though they got her here quickly, finding the right blood vessel would take precious time. If the artery had snapped back into her skull, they’d have to open her head just to look for it. And all the while, they’d have to fight to keep her from bleeding out or going into heart and kidney failure.
