Ready to Rule: The Real Heiress Strikes Back novel Chapter 261

This was almost impossible.

No one here thought they could pull it off.

“You need to get her to Capital Hospital right now. That might be her only chance.”

“I can do it.”

“I can do it.”

Lydia and Garrett spoke up at the exact same time.

Dr. Donley stared at them, completely stunned. “You two?”

They both looked so young, especially the girl. How could someone like her handle a surgery this complicated?

He had to be dreaming, right?

Trying not to waste any more time, Garrett pulled out his medical license and held it up. “Here are my credentials.”

Dr. Donley read the name and title, and his eyes went wide.

Garrett: Chief Physician.

Chief Physician? That was the top medical certification anyone could have.

This guy was so young, yet he was already at the highest level?

And… Garrett Norwood? Wasn’t he that prodigy everyone in the medical world talked about?

“You’re—”

“We’re running out of time. Let’s get to work,” Garrett said, cutting him off.

Dr. Donley nodded quickly, then glanced at Lydia, clearly still in disbelief. “But this young lady…”

Lydia took out her phone and brought up a digital version of her medical license, the name already updated.

“Here’s mine.”

Dr. Donley knew he couldn’t risk losing her just because he hesitated. He finally gave in. “Alright. Prep for surgery. Now.”

Having Garrett, the medical genius, on hand, plus another young prodigy, gave him hope for the first time all day. He’d never heard of Lydia before, but if she was certified at her age, there was no way she was ordinary.

Inside the operating room, everything was ready. Thankfully, the blood bank had more than enough of Violette’s blood type. That would make things a little smoother.

Lydia and Garrett scrubbed in, pulling on sterile gowns, masks, and gloves. They began by carefully cleaning and disinfecting the wound, every move precise and steady, trying to prevent infection. Working side by side, they used delicate tools to gently separate the blood vessels and nerves, searching for the damaged artery.

The longer Garrett searched, the more anxious he felt. The end of the artery that connected to the brain had already pulled back inside the skull. It was almost impossible to reach.

“We’ll have to do a craniotomy,” he said.

“Let me try again,” Lydia replied, calm as ever.

Garrett was honestly shocked. She was so young, yet her skill matched his own. She didn’t even flinch, even with so much on the line. He could count on one hand the number of people he’d met who could stay this cool under pressure.

In his mind, they needed to open the skull as soon as possible to find the artery. If not, the girl would die from blood loss and organ failure. There was no time to waste.
