Sue jumped in, her words tumbling out fast. “It’s that video you posted the other day, the one where you were making medicine. Last night, your comments got totally slammed by trolls. They’re all calling you a scammer and saying they’re victims. Connor’s been in the trenches since early this morning, fighting back. You’re trending right now, by the way.”
Sue had only just woken up to the chaos and she was ready to explode. But Connor, true to form, was out there like a loyal knight, taking on the trolls one by one, not giving them an inch.
Lydia narrowed her eyes. “Let me check.”
She opened the app and went straight to her latest video. It was the one she’d filmed the night she’d brought the golden antler to her grandma back in Lakeview Town. The video already had over a million likes. But the comment section was wild. There were more than three hundred thousand comments and the newest ones were almost all hate.
[ComebackKing]: This is a scam! She pretends to make medicine, but anyone can slap ‘medic’ in their username and act like a miracle worker. She’s just chasing views and money. Total fraud.
[MidnightPhantom]: I can back this up. She’s a fake. I used her so-called miracle plaster and my skin actually started to rot. I have the photos to prove it. Please, no one trust her! [Image attached]
[TheEnforcer]: Influencers these days will do anything for attention. Don’t let her scam you. She’s a con artist, plain and simple. If she wasn’t, why would she have so many followers? Hold on tight to your wallets.
Connor was right there in the comments, firing back at each troll.
Connor @ComebackKing: You’re just a cockroach hiding in the shadows. I’ve tracked you down. You have two hours to apologize to Chief Lydia, or else…
That unfinished warning was driving everyone crazy. People kept tagging Connor, begging him to say what would happen.
Connor @MidnightPhantom: Why didn’t your whole body rot, you loser? Reported to the police.
Connor @TheEnforcer: The real con here is you. I’ve found your location too.
She opened an app, the black one with a white L on it, and started tapping away.
It didn’t take long to figure out that all the trolls were connected to two fixed IP addresses, both based in Ocean City.
So that’s where the troll farm was.
She did a quick search to see if those IPs had commented anywhere, but whoever was running them was careful. Not a single trace.
Lydia followed the digital breadcrumbs from those two addresses and tracked them to an office building. After some digging, she narrowed it down to a couple of companies that could be behind it.

The readers' comments on the novel: Ready to Rule: The Real Heiress Strikes Back
thank u for the upload...
the next chapter is exciting...
the next upload is exciting. i cant wait....
Every chapter is missing a sentence from the end of every chapter. It’s frustrating to try guess what’s missing or said...
