Ready to Rule: The Real Heiress Strikes Back novel Chapter 333

Ms. Santoro looked like she’d just been hit by lightning.

Jameson, the station chief, was just as stunned.

Her real parents were the country’s richest family?

Cameron Norwood?

Aiden didn’t stop there. “Lydia is going to be the future lady of the Jefferson family. You took your so-called evidence and trashed her online. Now you’ll have to deal with the fallout.”

Jameson’s eyes went wide. He blurted out, “The Jefferson family? You mean the Jeffersons from the Capital?”

Everyone knew about the Jeffersons. They were old money, respected for generations. Their reputation was rock solid, like the backbone of the country. No amount of cash could buy that kind of status.

Ms. Santoro could barely speak. “No way. That’s impossible.”

“Why not? You really think the person who bribed you didn’t know who Lydia was? Use your head. If Lydia were just some regular person, who would pay half a million bucks just to ruin her? Seriously, think about it.”

Ms. Santoro had always looked down on Lydia, thought she was a nobody, a slacker. Now she was finding out that the girl she despised was actually the daughter of the richest man in the country, and was set to marry someone from the Jefferson family.

The shock was just too much. The room spun, and she fainted on the spot.

After sending Garrett home, Lydia drove Connor back to his office.

Connor sighed, looking out the window. He really didn’t want to go back to work, but his fiancée was swamped and had no time to hang out with him.

Lydia was seriously busy. There was a mountain of work waiting for her, and she still had dinner plans with Connor that night.

By six, she was reviewing designs from her team when her phone rang with an unknown number.

He frowned, wondering if the mysterious Miracle Hands would actually show up. Miracle Hands had made headlines in the medical world eight years ago, but barely anyone knew who he was. Even foreign royals had tried and failed to track him down. Yet somehow, Connor had gotten through.

He wasn’t nervous, just a little skeptical. It seemed odd that Miracle Hands would say yes. Nothing about it made sense.

“Lydia.”

A bodyguard’s voice called from outside, snapping Connor out of his thoughts. Lydia?

Before he could piece it together, the door swung open. Lydia stepped in, all cool confidence in a white dress.

Connor shot to his feet, grinning in surprise. “Lydia, what are you doing here?”

Lydia strolled over, a playful glint in her eyes. She lifted a brow. “Didn’t you invite me?”
