Ready to Rule: The Real Heiress Strikes Back novel Chapter 334

Lydia didn’t even blink at the shock on Connor’s face. She walked over, pulled out a chair, and sat at the table, lifting her gaze to meet his. “So, talk to me. What’s really going on with your health?”

Connor was stunned. He couldn’t even find the words.

Wait. Was Lydia actually Miracle Hands?

No way.

Eight years ago… how old would she have been?

He could wrap his head around her winning all kinds of academic awards at eight, sure. But being hailed as Miracle Hands at just ten? That was a stretch. It just didn’t add up.

He’d always pictured Miracle Hands as an old doctor, someone with white hair, or at least a middle-aged expert. Never in a million years had he thought the legend everyone talked about would turn out to be his fiancée.

For a second, he just sat there, feeling lost.

Lydia watched him, sitting silently across from her, staring but not saying a word. She gave a helpless little smile. “Are you mad at me?”

Connor shook his head, still trying to process. “Not mad. Just… shocked, honestly.”

“How did you do it?” he asked. “Everyone online’s been asking how you won so many awards at eight. But what I want to know is, how did you become Miracle Hands at ten?”

Lydia shrugged. “People like to exaggerate. I’m not as amazing as they say. I can’t bring people back from the dead or anything.”

Connor still looked skeptical. “But you were called Miracle Hands when you were ten.”

Eight years ago, a mysterious doctor from overseas cured a world leader who had late-stage cancer. The whole world was stunned. That leader had already retired, but he was still alive and well. After that, the doctor became known as Miracle Hands all over the medical world.

Lydia smiled, almost shy. “Maybe I was just meant to be a doctor.”

Could anyone believe it? She’d been able to use a scalpel and do dissections at six. She just got medicine, instantly. It was like she was born for it.

He’d seen a bunch of doctors before. They always talked about his liver, telling him to take care of it. Nobody had mentioned his eyes, unless he brought it up first.

“You can really tell?” he asked.

Lydia kept her fingers on his wrist, frowning a little deeper.

The body was all connected. Your pulse could show what was going on with your organs and energy. The eyes were linked to the organs through the meridians, so if there was a problem, it would show up in the pulse.

Connor’s pulse was tight and thin, sometimes rough. That meant his liver energy was stuck, not flowing smoothly. That could block the meridians in his eyes and mess with his vision.

But… he didn’t have any real vision problems, right?

Lydia stood up, walked over, and looked him in the eye. “Do you see me clearly, or is it blurry?”

Connor looked at her, the light making her look almost unreal, so beautiful he could barely breathe. He shook his head, a small smile on his lips. “No. Your face is already burned into my memory.”
