Mrs. Smith’s words hit Jenson and Milana like a slap in the face.
“You… you already made a will?” Milana’s voice went shrill, almost breaking into a scream, sharp enough to make anyone wince.
Jenson just stared at his mother, completely floored. “Mom, are you serious? I know you’re soft on Lydia, but she’s not even part of the Smith family. Why would you leave everything to her?”
Mrs. Smith wasn’t fazed at all. “To me, Lydia will always be my granddaughter. She’s smarter and braver than either of you, and she actually knows how to run a business. If I hand over the shares to you two, we’ll end up exactly where you are now… with nothing left.”
Letting them run Smith Corporation had been her biggest mistake. Did they really think they’d made it this far on their own? If Lydia hadn’t been quietly patching up their messes, pulling in new clients, and investing her own money, they’d have fallen apart ages ago.
“Mom, do you even hear yourself? Lydia is just eighteen! She’s lazy and clueless. She wouldn’t know how to manage a company if her life depended on it. If you give her those shares, the whole business will go up in flames! Jenson’s your son. He’s the rightful heir. You have to change that will!” Milana was convinced Mrs. Smith had lost her mind.
Leave the entire family fortune to Lydia? How could she even think of something so ridiculous?
Mrs. Smith looked at Milana with an icy stare. “I’m not changing my will. Stop scheming to get my shares.”
“You…” Milana was about to lose it. She glared at the old woman, her eyes full of hatred, wishing she could just reach out and strangle her.
“Jenson, did you hear that? She doesn’t even see you as her son. To her, you’re not even family. She’s got a son and a grandson, but she wants to hand everything over to that ungrateful brat Lydia. Is she trying to cut you out for good?”
Milana could tell Jenson was ready to blow, and she wanted to push him right over the edge. Maybe if he lost it, this stubborn old bitch would finally give in and fix the will. Did Mrs. Smith really think they wouldn’t do anything to her?
She was ancient, barely holding on, and yet she still thought she could boss them around. She was practically asking for trouble.
“Jenson, are you going to peel an apple for your mom? Better be careful. That knife is really sharp. One wrong move, and someone could get hurt…”
Jenson’s eyes were locked on Mrs. Smith, and his voice was so low it sent chills down her spine. “That depends, Mom. Do you want an apple or do you want to see blood?”
Mrs. Smith’s frail body shook.
Look at him. This was the son she’d poured her whole life into raising.

the next upload is exciting. i cant wait....
Every chapter is missing a sentence from the end of every chapter. It’s frustrating to try guess what’s missing or said...
