There was no anger in her eyes, just a deep, aching sadness that seemed to stretch on forever.
“I spent my whole life raising you, hoping you’d make something of yourself, hoping you’d care for me when I got old. And now, tell me, what do I have to show for it?”
They only ever remembered her when they needed something. Every visit came with a hidden motive. Not once did they come just to see how she was feeling. Even when she was lying in bed, sick and dying, all they could think about was her inheritance. Only her sweet Lyds was there for her, never leaving her side, nursing her back from the edge again and again, giving her a reason to keep going.
Milana’s voice was sharp, her patience gone. “Haven’t we done enough for you? We’re busy working, but we still come back all the time to check on you. We bring you the most expensive supplements. Isn’t that being a good child?”
Something in his mother’s words actually got to Jenson. For a second, he hesitated, his voice softening. “Mom, we’ve always respected you, always tried to do right by you. It’s just that your heart is always with Lydia. You never see what we do for you. I swear, if you just transfer the shares to me, I’ll bring you to the city right away. I’ll hire people to take care of you, make sure you have everything you need until the end.”
Jenson honestly believed his own words. In that moment, he thought he was the best son in the world.
Mrs. Smith just laughed.
Jenson thought she was finally convinced, maybe even touched. But her eyes went cold, and her voice dropped, low and clear. “Don’t waste your breath. I don’t need you to take care of me. From now on, I don’t have a son like you. Both of you, get out. Now.”
Jenson’s face twisted with rage. His eyes went wide as he stared her down, then he lunged and grabbed a fistful of her hair. “You really are so stubborn, aren’t you?”
The pain hit Mrs. Smith so hard that her face turned ghostly pale. It felt like Jenson was about to rip her scalp right off.
“Even if you put a knife to my throat, I still won’t change my will,” she managed, her voice shaking.
Before she could finish, Milana stepped forward and slapped her, hard.
Jenson didn’t even have time to react before a powerful blow hit him, knocking him clear across the room.
He still had the fruit knife in his hand. Somehow, as he was thrown back, the knife turned and plunged into his own stomach. When he crashed against the wall, a sharp pain shot through him, and he doubled over, blood pouring through his fingers.
He let out another scream and collapsed to the floor, clutching his stomach.
Milana, who had been so smug just moments before, froze. By the time she realized what had happened, Jenson was already lying on the ground, covered in blood.
She grabbed her head and started screaming. “Help! He’s killing my husband!”

the next upload is exciting. i cant wait....
Every chapter is missing a sentence from the end of every chapter. It’s frustrating to try guess what’s missing or said...
