Lydia gave a calm nod. “Yeah.”
Jenny couldn’t help but admire her. Look at her, still so collected and queenly even overseas. Not the least bit nervous. That’s Ms. Norwood for you.
“Ms. Norwood, honestly, you’re incredible. If you were competing, you’d win for sure!” Jenny meant every word. Without Lydia training them personally—twice, no less—she would never have made it this far. Just getting to this international stage felt like a dream.
“I’ll be watching you all compete.”
Upstairs, once they reached the room, Lydia offered a bit more reassurance. “Don’t overthink it. Get some rest tonight and do your best tomorrow.”
Jenny nodded quickly. “I will! Goodnight, Ms. Norwood.”
Back in her room, Lydia pulled out her phone to text her family and let Connor know she’d arrived safely. Before she could even put it down, a video call from Connor popped up.
She raised an eyebrow. Quick as always.
Back in her home country, Connor was already at his desk at Jefferson Group. He finally looked relieved after seeing she’d reached her hotel.
“You just got to France and I already miss you. What am I supposed to do with myself?”
Aiden walked in with some meeting notes, but froze at Connor’s words. He mumbled a quick apology and ducked right back out. He couldn’t take it anymore. The boss was getting more lovesick by the day.
Lydia just rolled her eyes. Was he always this smooth?
“Figure it out.”
Connor looked at Lydia through the screen. Her skin seemed to glow, her expression cool and sharp, and he couldn’t help but smile. “You haven’t been sleeping well lately. Get some rest. You’ve got another busy day tomorrow.”
He thought she’d only come to France because she was worried about her company’s contestants. It was already past two-thirty in the morning over there. At best, she’d get four hours of sleep before she had to get up and take care of her team. She worked so hard. Connor really thought Lydia was almost too capable for her own good. She was only eighteen, but she already carried so much on her shoulders.
“Marissa and the others are already waiting in the restaurant. Let’s get some breakfast,” Jenny said.
“Alright.”
They walked toward the elevator together, but before they reached it, voices drifted from around the corner.
“Sierra, your designs are incredible. You’re definitely going to win. I’m just here to make you look even better.”
“Come on, don’t say that. This is an international competition. We have no idea who’ll win.”
“Aw. With your skills, even if you don’t take first, you’ll be in the top five for sure. You’ll be famous overnight!”
“I heard Greenward Power’s people arrived yesterday too. They’re looking pretty strong.”

The readers' comments on the novel: Ready to Rule: The Real Heiress Strikes Back

the next upload is exciting. i cant wait....
Every chapter is missing a sentence from the end of every chapter. It’s frustrating to try guess what’s missing or said...
