Ready to Rule: The Real Heiress Strikes Back novel Chapter 392

“I think someone is jealous.” Jenny scrunched up her nose, her voice full of mockery.

Sharee could barely keep it together. Jenny was just too much. Did being ranked higher back home give her the right to treat people like this?

Fine. Maybe her ranking wasn’t as good as Jenny’s, but Sharee had never seen that girl standing next to Jenny at any domestic competition. She was probably just a nobody.

“Please. At least I placed tenth back home. The girl next to you probably didn’t even make the list. How does someone like that even have the nerve to show up to compete?”

“Sharee, that’s enough! She’s—”

“I’m not competing. So what?” Lydia cut Jenny off, her gaze cold and dismissive as she looked at Sharee.

Sharee crossed her arms and lifted her chin, her pride on full display. “You shouldn’t even be allowed through the doors. You’re just here to embarrass all of us.”

Suddenly, Lydia slapped her. The sound echoed through the hallway.

Sharee stared, stunned, her eyes wide with disbelief. Did that really just happen? She got slapped by someone she didn’t even recognize?

“You… How dare you hit me?” Sharee was shaking with rage.

“Someone needs to shut you up. When you walk into that arena, don’t you dare say you’re from our country.” Lydia’s words were ice cold. She turned and walked away without looking back.

Sharee was furious and refused to let it go. She shrieked and chased after her. “You bitch! Get back here!” Like she’d just let someone slap her and walk off scot-free? No way.

Lydia stopped and turned around, giving Sharee a look like she was completely clueless. “Why don’t you ask your bestie why she hasn’t said a single word? Why she’s letting you make a fool of yourself?”

Only then did Sharee notice Sierra had been silent the whole time, just watching.

“Sierra, what’s that supposed to mean?” Sharee’s voice wavered.

Sierra tried to calm her down. “You don’t have any real beef with her, do you? Just stay away from her from now on.”

“But she’s going to the competition too, and I—”

Sierra waved it off. “She’s just there to watch Jenny compete. It has nothing to do with us. What are you so scared of?” No matter how powerful Ms. Norwood was, she wasn’t going to be an international judge. Right?

When they got to the restaurant on the second floor, Marissa and two other coworkers had already grabbed a table. As soon as they saw Lydia, they called out warmly. “Ms. Norwood.”

Lydia gave them a small nod. “How’s everyone doing?”

Marissa, who’d seen it all in the fashion world, stayed cool and confident. “We’re good, thanks to your help, Ms. Norwood.”

The other two, Gavin and Elisha, were company designers who, just like Jenny, had stood out back in the domestic competitions.
