So Connor had no choice but to spend the night alone.

When she finally came back to the room, Grace was already waiting for her.

“Lucinda, you’re back. You must be tired. Go shower and get some rest.”

Lucinda lowered her voice, glancing at the door. “Grace, what’s the plan exactly? Are you sure Mom and Dad won’t find out?”

The more she thought about it, the more anxious she felt.

Grace just smiled, acting all mysterious. “Relax, Lucinda. I’ve already set everything up. Just get a good night’s sleep, and I promise you’ll wake up to good news in the morning.”

Lucinda’s eyes lit up, full of hope. “Really?”

“Of course. Have I ever lied to you? This time there’s no way anything will go wrong.”

That finally calmed Lucinda down. She nodded. “Okay. I’ll go shower then. I feel so hot, I’ve been sweating like crazy.”

Lucinda had always been used to having Grace around. Whenever they went abroad, Grace would share a room with her. It made her feel safe.

Neither of them realized that Lydia was watching their every move.

It wasn’t that there were hidden cameras in the hotel room. Instead, Lydia used the computer in their room to keep an eye on them. Grace had been bored earlier and started playing a matching game on the computer but forgot to shut it down. Lydia used that chance to hack in and watch everything. If Grace had turned off the computer, Lydia wouldn’t have been able to see a thing.

Lydia closed her laptop, smirking. She knew it. If they wanted to play games, she was happy to play along. She was curious what Grace, who had been hiding in the Norwood family for eighteen years, was really after.

Lydia tapped a quick code on the door. With a soft click, it opened. She shoved the man inside and pulled the silver needle out of his neck.

Meanwhile, Grace was still waiting for any sounds from the next room, but instead, she heard her own door suddenly open. She rushed over to check, only to see a fat, sweaty man getting up from the floor. As soon as he spotted her, he lunged, calling her “babe” over and over.

Grace froze in total shock, unable to make sense of what was happening.

But there was no time to think. The man’s whole body radiated heat, like he was on fire, and he was so heavy she couldn’t break free.

She heard a sharp rip as the man tore her clothes open.
