Lucinda was sprawled on the bed in the same room, so deeply asleep she might as well have been in a coma. No matter how loud Grace shouted, Lucinda didn’t even flinch.
“Let me go, you bastard! I’m Night Eagle’s wife. You have no idea who you’re messing with!” Grace’s panic grew with every second, her voice trembling as she finally blurted out her identity.
The man pinning her down wasn’t listening. He was lost in some animalistic frenzy, completely deaf to her words. All he knew was the heat pulsing through his body, desperate for an outlet.
Grace might have been in her forties, but she’d kept herself in great shape. She was still alluring, her beauty seasoned with maturity. To a man who hadn’t tasted a woman’s touch in ages, she was irresistible.
“No! Let go of me! Damn you!” Grace thrashed against the wall, but the man’s heavy body held her tight. She was helpless.
“Lucinda! Lucinda!” She screamed Lucinda’s name, voice cracking with desperation.
“Help me! Please, someone help!” At this point, Grace was nearly hysterical.
She was the wife of Night Eagle, the head of the Black Eagle group. How could she let herself be violated by some random loser? If Night Eagle ever heard about this, she was sure he’d kill her himself.
Lucinda, though, didn’t move a muscle. No matter how frantically Grace called, she stayed completely still, dead to the world.
The hotel’s soundproofing was pretty impressive. No one outside could hear the chaos happening inside that room.
But Lydia, who was back in her own room, had sharp ears. She stood quietly in a corner, listening to the muffled noise next door. She heard Grace’s cries go from wild panic to utter hopelessness, and finally, to something else… resignation. Lydia’s lips curled into a cold, amused smile.
Grace spent her life in the Norwood family and barely saw Night Eagle a few times a year. Maybe Lydia had just helped her ease some of that loneliness.
Oh well, scratch that. Grace just picked herself a chunky, not-so-handsome guy to let off some steam.
He clicked his tongue. “Wow, cold as ever. Got yourself a new guy and forgot all about me, huh?”
“Iceblade. Watch your mouth.” Lydia’s gaze was sharp as she shot him a warning look.
Iceblade—the top assassin in Sky Net—showing up here definitely didn’t mean anything good.
He made a show of looking hurt. “You really know how to break a guy’s heart. I finish one job, come back, and all I hear is you’ve moved on. You’re not even going to explain?”
Lydia didn’t waste a breath. “Leave.”
Iceblade heaved a dramatic sigh. “So that mutt really is your favorite now. Maybe I should just kill him. Then I’d have you all to myself.”

thank u!...

the next upload is exciting. i cant wait....
Every chapter is missing a sentence from the end of every chapter. It’s frustrating to try guess what’s missing or said...
