Her sons were all impressive, each one more outstanding than the last, but it was her daughter who truly took things to another level. As a mother, she couldn’t help but feel both proud and deeply content.
Lucinda nodded. “Yeah, Elliot’s new movie is coming out, so my friends and I are all planning to see it.”
Lately, Lydia had been so busy that she hadn’t even had time to follow what was happening with her own brother. She’d only heard bits and pieces, mostly that he was now a superstar across the world.
“Did you buy tickets for the morning show?” Mr. Norwood asked.
He could see something tired and sad in Lucinda’s eyes, but there were some things he just couldn’t change. She wasn’t really a Norwood by blood, and Connor’s feelings were for Lydia, not her.
Lucinda hesitated, then nodded. “Yeah.”
In reality, her ticket was for two in the afternoon. She’d planned to go shopping with her friends in the morning. Her mood had been off lately, and she just needed to get out, clear her head for a while.
Mr. Norwood just nodded. “Alright, then. Make sure you’re careful while you’re out. The Capital’s been a little chaotic lately. Have the bodyguards keep an eye on you, even if it’s from a distance.”
“I know, Grandpa.”
As soon as the topic of safety came up, Cameron spoke up. “That hacker, L, is absolutely genius! If she wanted to, she could probably take down every corrupt official in the country.”
Kylie chimed in, “Seriously! She’s incredible. Even that club that had crazy strong backing got shut down a couple of days ago. L really is like a guardian angel for everyone in this country.”
Mr. Norwood nodded thoughtfully. “People with that kind of talent are a blessing for our nation.”
After breakfast, Lucinda went upstairs to fix her hair and get ready for her day out with friends.
“Lucinda, don’t you ever put yourself down. You’re a hundred times, a thousand times better than Lydia.”
Lucinda gave her a tired, almost mocking smile. “Grace, it’s fine to say that to me in private, just don’t say it to anyone else. I have to go now.”
Paige was probably almost here to pick her up.
Grace hesitated, worried for her. “Lucinda, do you want me to come with you?”
Lucinda used to love having her along, but ever since Blake had gotten in her head back in France, she’d started keeping Grace at arm’s length.
“Thank you, Grace, but I’m just meeting some friends today, and Paige is driving me. You really don’t need to come.”

the next upload is exciting. i cant wait....
Every chapter is missing a sentence from the end of every chapter. It’s frustrating to try guess what’s missing or said...
