The second Grace spoke up, the room went dead quiet. No one dared to argue with her. Lucinda was still officially a Norwood, and Grace was not someone they wanted to mess with.
But Tina, Lydia’s maid, wasn’t scared at all.
“The engagement between Connor and Lydia was set before Lydia was even born. Mrs. Norwood made the arrangement when she was still pregnant. Lydia just got mixed up and taken by someone else. Now, after everything, things are finally the way they should be.”
Grace glared, refusing to back down. “I said if. If Lydia hadn’t been found, then Connor would be with Lucinda. What if Lydia had come back after Lucinda and Connor were already married? Would you expect them to get divorced for Lydia’s sake?”
Tina let out a sigh. “That’s exactly why it’s fate. Everything happened for a reason. What isn’t meant for you will never be yours. Lucinda got to live eighteen years in luxury with the Norwoods, and now, she’s still allowed to stay. The whole family agreed to it. That kind of luck doesn’t come to just anyone. So, Grace, maybe you should try being grateful for once.”
Grace was so mad she nearly exploded. She jabbed a finger at Tina. “Tina, who do you think you are, lecturing me? Did you forget who taught you everything in this house?”
Tina kept her voice steady. “Of course I remember, Grace. You taught me everything. That’s why I’m reminding you now. If Mr. or Mrs. Norwood, or Lydia, heard what you just said, how do you think they’d feel? Are you really suggesting they break up Connor and Lydia for Lucinda?”
Garrett: [We still need to watch how he acts in the long run.]
Elliot: [Exactly. I’m almost back in the country. I’ll check this Connor out myself. *smug emoji*]
Blake tagged Elliot: [You’re not his match.]
Elliot: [Then I’ll just trip him up a bit in front of our sister. No way he’s getting off easy.]

Olha a história bem boa só algumas coisas são chatas ( nesse tipo de história sempre troca as filhas pela a da empregada ou então pegam uma menina pra criar) pelo menos eles tratam a filha bem só enche o saco que até agora a Lucinda tá lá enchendo ! Fora isso tá bom Connor é um fofo a família dela a ama muito só Lucinda pra abaixar o nível do livro já era pra ter resolvido isso e fazer ela pagar mais tudo bem li um livro chinês que era parecido só algumas coisas diferentes ,ais mesma coisa tipo ela salvou o Connor no início lá ela salvava o avô dele , no chinês ela não tinha um irmão mais novo com os pais adotivos , a mãe dela tinha 2 irmãos e todos os avós estavam vivos mais história quase igual e tem coisas tipo o triângulo que lá TB tinha até a Lucinda que no chines TB ficou o livro todo aprontando só no final a família descobria e se livrava dela aí ela ia morar com o cara que ela usa pra disfarçar que não gosta do Connor aí depois ainda quase matava a irmã dele e a mãe dele que ele via como ela era...
