Ready to Rule: The Real Heiress Strikes Back novel Chapter 600

Lucinda’s fingers curled tighter around her phone. That same annoying voice rang in her mind. Weren’t we supposed to treat everyone the same? Then why does everyone make it so obvious they favor Lydia, acting like how I feel doesn’t even matter?

Right then, Elliot brought out a thick scrapbook and walked over to Lydia, looking a little sheepish. “Hey, sis. Before I came back, I asked a bunch of celebrities here and overseas for their autographs. There are also tickets to new movie premieres, concerts… oh, and passes for my own tour.”

He scratched the back of his head, a little embarrassed. “Don’t feel pressured. If you’re not into it, you can always give it to a friend.”

Elliot had really gone all out to surprise Lydia. The gift wasn’t expensive, but it meant something. Collecting all those signatures and tickets had taken a lot of effort. He thought Lydia would be thrilled, but who would’ve guessed his sister was actually a secret superstar herself?

She’s the mysterious queen of pop music, adored worldwide. Her albums were everywhere, but no one had ever seen her real face. Even on her world tour two years ago, she wore a decorated mask the whole time, keeping her identity a secret. That just made fans even more obsessed, all hoping they’d be the lucky ones to finally see her.

It was funny, really. Why would Lydia care about autographs or concert tickets, when other people lined up just for a chance to see her? Elliot had tried to get her to appear at one of his shows, but she turned him down flat. That was star power.

Lydia didn’t hesitate. She took the scrapbook right away and flipped it open. Inside were signatures from all sorts of celebrities, both local and international, along with famous artists. Most of the messages said things like:

Wishing you a bright future.

May your path always be lined with flowers.

Elliot saw how much Lydia really treasured the scrapbook. All his nerves just melted away and he let out a laugh, suddenly relieved. “I’m glad you like it.”

Lucinda watched from the sidelines, her anger boiling over. Without thinking, she blurted out, her tone sharp, “Elliot, you give Lydia a scrapbook, but not me? So now you only care about her?”

Elliot turned to her with a smile. “Are you jealous, Lucinda? Last year on your birthday, I offered to make you a scrapbook too. You said you weren’t into celebrities and didn’t want one, so I didn’t make it.”

Lucinda’s face turned bright red. She remembered her birthday last year, how Elliot had been totally stumped trying to find the perfect gift for her. For as long as anyone could remember, Lucinda had been spoiled in the Norwood family like no one else. Whatever a girl could wish for, her brothers had already given her, each visit bringing a new surprise as they tried to outdo one another.
