Ready to Rule: The Real Heiress Strikes Back novel Chapter 679

Daisy looked down, her lashes fluttering as she played up the tears. “We were just talking,” she sniffled, “then out of nowhere, she totally lost it and threw water at me.”

Lydia shot her a look, her tone flat and unimpressed. “Even you don’t believe that story, do you?”

Ms. Brown glanced between them, then turned to Monica and Fiona. “All right, you two. Tell me what really happened.”

Monica’s face was full of regret. If only she hadn’t blurted out that question about Lydia and her so-called boyfriend, none of this would have blown up.

“It was… it was Daisy…” Monica stammered, torn. The truth was, Daisy had started everything by accusing Lydia of being a sugar baby, with no proof at all.

“Daisy? You mean Daisy Rivers?” Ms. Brown’s eyes snapped to Daisy, a flicker of recognition suddenly lighting her face.

Daisy straightened up, chin high, pride practically radiating off her. “That’s right, Ms. Brown. I’m Daisy Rivers.”

Daisy Rivers. The prodigy from the Rivers family. Everyone in the Capital’s medical world knew that name.

Ms. Brown had heard the stories. She knew better than to cross Daisy. Without letting Monica finish, she turned to Lydia with a firm voice. “You. Apologize to Daisy right now. Fix her bed, her desk, and any of her things you messed up. If you do that, we’ll let this go.”

Monica and Fiona exchanged stunned looks. Was Ms. Brown serious? She hadn’t even gotten the full story and was already siding with Daisy?

Lydia’s expression turned icy as she locked eyes with Ms. Brown. “Are you just scared of the Rivers family?”

Ms. Brown bristled, her voice rising. “You think you had a reason to throw water on Daisy’s bed? I’m only asking you to apologize and put her things back. That’s the least you could do.”

Daisy’s lips curled in a smug smile. She lifted her chin, waiting for Lydia to give in and apologize.

Outside the dorm, the commotion had drawn a crowd. Students whispered among themselves, their voices barely above a murmur.

“That’s right.” Ms. Brown crossed her arms. “You have three minutes to think it over. If you refuse, go pack your things and get ready to leave.”

Gasps rippled through the crowd. Expelled? After something like this, what other school would take her? Her whole future would be over. Ms. Brown wasn’t playing around.

Lydia just smiled. “I don’t need to think about it.”

Ms. Brown’s lips curled in a mocking smile. “Then you’d better hurry up and apologize to Daisy.”

Daisy looked certain she’d won, ready to watch Lydia finally surrender.

“Lydia, if you apologize to me and put everything back the way it was, I might just let it go,” Daisy said, her voice syrupy sweet. “Maybe I’ll even let you stay at Capital Med.”
