"That was awesome. He really made us guys look good."
Monica and Fiona were both on edge, nerves written all over their faces.
"What are we going to do? I'm terrible at shooting. I don't want to drag our class down."
"Same here. I barely know how to use these things."
Lydia tried to calm them down. "If you don't know what to do, just ask the instructor. He'll help you out."
Jay was the top shooter for Blood Oath. Calling his aim perfect wasn't even an exaggeration.
Monica looked a little embarrassed. "He always seems so serious. I'm kind of scared to talk to him."
"Come on, he's not scary. He's just a person. You can always ask him for tips during the free practice," Lydia said.
While everyone else was focused on the current round, Fiona lowered her voice and leaned in toward Lydia. "Hey, Lydia, do you have a thing for Jay?"
Lydia raised an eyebrow and answered without missing a beat. "Nope. I have a boyfriend."
Fiona laughed. "Well, good. That means we can go ask him for help without worrying about anything."
Under Jay's guidance, most of the students managed to hit the three or four rings. A few did a bit better, scoring five or six. Besides Daisy and Felix, only one other guy, Jules, managed to get an eight or nine.
Somehow, Lydia ended up being the last one to take her shot.
Everyone's expectations were high. Lydia was the top scorer in the whole country, totally crushed Yara in the school beauty contest, and even beat Daisy in their last face-off. With all that, her shooting skills had to be good, right?
At the very least, she should be just as good as Daisy.
Everyone watched as Lydia finally lifted her gun and pulled the trigger.
For a moment, she had the cool, fierce vibe of a special ops soldier. Dressed in camouflage and holding the gun, Lydia looked seriously impressive.
Suddenly, a bunch of students crowded around Daisy, all eager to get her advice.
"Daisy, did you start practicing when you were a kid? Isn't it exhausting?"
"Yeah, Daisy, I barely ever shoot. How do you get better?"
Daisy glanced at Lydia with a smug look, then turned on her gentle voice. "It's not exhausting. I just do a lot of different training. You just need to practice more. I'll teach you some of my techniques later. It'll definitely help."
"Oh wow, that's amazing, Daisy. You're the best."
Another girl chimed in, "Yeah, Daisy, thanks so much for helping us. I don't know what we'd do without you."
Daisy smiled. "Don't worry. As long as I'm here, I'll make sure all of you hit sixes or sevens."
Suddenly, Jay's voice cut through the noise. "Lydia, step forward."

thank u!...

Every chapter is missing a sentence from the end of every chapter. It’s frustrating to try guess what’s missing or said...
