Ready to Rule: The Real Heiress Strikes Back novel Chapter 697

Lydia shot Daisy and Patricia a smug look. “What if I hit the bullseye every single time?”

Daisy just laughed.

Patricia joined in, echoing Daisy’s confidence. “If you manage that on your own, I’ll get down on my knees and call you Your Highness.”

Lydia grinned. “So, one bullseye gets me one ‘Your Highness,’ right?”

Patricia agreed with a flick of her chin. “Sure.”

She didn’t believe for a second that Lydia could actually do it. Daisy had been practicing since she was little and still only scored eights. Did Lydia really think hitting tens was that simple?

“No backing out,” Lydia added. “Whoever does is a coward.”

Before anyone could react, Lydia picked up the gun again.

Patricia’s eyes widened. “Wait, what are you doing?”

For a split second, she wondered if Lydia was about to aim at her instead.

Lydia flashed a cocky smile, confidence radiating off her. “I’ll shoot ten perfect tens for you. Let’s hear you call me ‘Your Highness’ ten times.”

Daisy just shook her head, convinced Lydia was being ridiculous. “Go ahead. Without the instructor’s help, you won’t be able to do it.”

Lydia threw Daisy a withering look, then strode to the shooting line. The way she carried herself changed in an instant. A moment ago, she looked casual, almost careless. Now, she was focused, every muscle poised for action.

Everyone went quiet, barely breathing as Lydia took aim at the target.

The gunshot rang out, echoing through the room.

Every head snapped to the scoreboard.

Lydia turned to Patricia, her grin even wider. “You said it yourself. One bullseye, one ‘Your Highness.’”

Patricia never thought she’d get put in her place this fast. It felt like everything flipped in an instant.

With all their classmates watching, and even people from the next class peeking in, there was no way she could kneel and call Lydia ‘Your Highness’ in front of everyone.

Daisy clenched her fists, her jaw tight. “Patricia, I… I didn’t expect her to actually hit a ten either.”

Then she glared at Lydia. “You just got lucky! The instructor was coaching you a minute ago. That was a total fluke. And anyway, you said ten bullseyes, ten ‘Your Highness.’ You’re not done yet!”

The other students heard Daisy and just stared.

Seriously?

So now she was trying to back out? Lydia had to hit all ten before she’d admit defeat? What if Lydia got nine out of ten? That would be so unfair. Everyone just thought Daisy was being shameless.
