Ready to Rule: The Real Heiress Strikes Back novel Chapter 775

Lucinda’s heart thudded in her chest and she couldn’t stop flicking anxious glances at Grace. Grace looked just as unsettled. She couldn’t tell if Lydia was just trying to scare them into slipping up or if she really could recover the deleted footage. If Lydia actually pulled it off, what would they do then?

Grace didn’t even have time to come up with a plan before Judy came back, carrying Lydia’s laptop. Lucinda watched in shock as Lydia took the computer and started typing, her fingers moving so fast it was almost dizzying. Was Lydia really that good? Could she actually get the data back? What was she supposed to do now?

Lydia worked quickly. In less than five minutes, she had the footage up. She gave a small, satisfied smile. “Done.”

Blake watched her, quietly impressed. How could his little sister be this amazing?

Elliot spoke up, unable to hide his curiosity. “Lydia, can you put it on the TV? Let’s all see what happened.”

Lydia nodded. “Sure.”

Right away, Lucinda went pale as a sheet. Lydia skipped over the parts with the Robinson family and went straight to the moment when Lucinda walked into the house. On the screen, the staff were talking about the Robinsons’ visit.

“I’m so glad Mrs. Norwood and her family finally made up. This is the best news.”

“Right? She always seemed so down during the holidays. At least now she can go home and see her parents and brother again.”

“Seriously, if Lydia hadn’t saved Mrs. Robinson, Mr. Robinson would never have swallowed his pride and come to visit his sister.”

“Lydia is incredible!”

Kylie looked absolutely heartbroken. She never imagined Lucinda would treat the staff like that behind their backs. No wonder none of them dared to say a word before.

Cameron looked just as disappointed. He’d always thought of Lucinda as sweet, gentle, and easy to get along with. He never expected this.

“Sir, Madam, Lucinda isn’t really like this!” Grace pleaded. “She’s just exhausted from two weeks of military training at school. The servants were all chattering and it got on her nerves. She just wanted to teach them a lesson. She didn’t mean it. Please, just forgive her this once.”

Grace dropped to her knees, bowing her head again and again, each thud echoing in the silent room.

Blake stared at Lucinda, his face cold and hard. “Lucinda, were you mad at Tina, or were you mad at Lydia?”
