Rosie squinted, sizing up the situation.
Just who was Lydia, really?
She used to think Lydia was just another broke girl from Lakeview Town. No one would have guessed she was actually the real heiress of the Norwood family, the richest family around. If her dad hadn’t seen it with his own eyes and told her, she never would have believed it.
No wonder Connor kept stepping in to defend Lydia. She was his fiancée.
Connor’s fiancée. That title alone was enough for Lydia to get away with anything she wanted in the Capital. And with the Norwood family behind her, plus the Robinsons backing her up, who would ever dare mess with her?
The more Rosie thought about it, the more bitter she felt. Her uncle was about to get promoted, so now wasn’t the time to make any waves. But when the promotion finally went through, the Gibson family wouldn’t have to bow to the Norwoods or the Robinsons anymore.
Let Lydia have her moment. Rosie would just wait and see how those so-called powerful families could keep protecting this country bumpkin.
“Just trust me on this. Stay out of her way for now. There’s nothing in it for us,” Rosie said.
As for Lydia being the true Norwood heiress, Rosie wasn’t about to spill that secret. Let everyone keep believing Lydia was just some poor girl. The more trouble that came her way, the better. Watching her struggle was kind of satisfying, honestly.
Take Sandy, for example. She only dared to trash Lydia online because she thought Lydia had no connections. If people knew who Lydia really was, no one would risk crossing her. And where was the fun in that?
At the same time, in the Capital College cafeteria, Lucinda scrolled through her phone and caught the latest gossip.
Sandy? Wasn’t that the girl Frank had raised?
“I bet Capital Med School is going to regret it later. They’re supposed to care about medical ability, right? Lydia’s grades might be perfect, but she probably knows nothing about actual medicine.”
Lots of people had the same opinion as Lucinda’s roommates. No one thought Lydia could compare to Daisy. The monthly academic competition between schools was coming up soon, and people wondered how much Lydia could really learn in just a month.
Would she be able to win even a single point for Capital Med School?
That afternoon, in class, Silvia called on Lydia again.
“Lydia, you might have aced the national exams, but you’ve never actually studied medicine. When the academic competition comes around, don’t embarrass Capital Med School.”
After everything that happened with Sandy, Silvia hated Lydia even more.

thank u!...
thank u for the upload...
the next chapter is exciting...
the next upload is exciting. i cant wait....
Every chapter is missing a sentence from the end of every chapter. It’s frustrating to try guess what’s missing or said...
