She honestly didn’t get why the school always sided with Lydia. What made Lydia so special, anyway? Sure, she’d aced her exams with a perfect score, but so what? When it came to medicine, she could never compare to Daisy.
Lydia just stared at Silvia, her lips twitching into a half-smile, not saying a word.
Silvia thought her silence meant she’d hit a nerve, so she pressed on. “You’re the national top scorer. Everyone’s watching you. You’d better work twice as hard this month. Don’t embarrass Capital Med School.”
Lydia’s smile turned slightly cocky. “Thanks for your concern. I’ve always believed in myself.”
The way Lydia acted only made Silvia think she was even more full of herself. Just a rookie, and already so arrogant. Did she even realize how many big shots and geniuses there were in the medical field? Where did she get all this confidence? It was honestly ridiculous.
“Lydia, it’s good to be confident, but too much confidence isn’t a good sign.”
“Don’t you want me to win honor for our class and school?”
“You—”
Silvia felt like she might explode from frustration. How did someone so hard to manage end up as the national top scorer?
“Since Lydia’s so sure she’ll take first place, let’s just wait and see,” Sandy chimed in from her seat in the front row, right next to the teacher’s desk.
Sandy was just as curious as everyone else. What would happen when medical genius Daisy went up against Miracle Hands’ apprentice? She just hoped Daisy wouldn’t disappoint.
Silvia actually preferred students like Sandy. She was well-behaved, thoughtful, had real talent, but always stayed humble.
It was only the first day, and she’d shown up just to check in. If she could skip class in the future, she absolutely would.
“Lydia, how did you sleep through the whole afternoon? You have no idea how many dirty looks Silvia was throwing at you,” Fiona whispered as she and Monica caught up to her outside the classroom.
Lydia just smiled. “The lecture was a little dull, I guess. I didn’t even realize I’d nodded off.”
“Well, try not to do it again. Everyone’s waiting to see your big performance next month. You can’t let them laugh at you.”
“Yeah, and Lydia, what did you do to make Silvia so mad at you? She seems to really like Sandy, too. Did something happen between you and Sandy?”

thank u!...

Every chapter is missing a sentence from the end of every chapter. It’s frustrating to try guess what’s missing or said...
