Caspian’s smile faltered. He’d always thought every girl loved roses.
He quickly pulled the diamond bracelet from the center of the bouquet, his voice growing shaky. “I’m sorry, Lucinda. I… I should’ve checked first. I didn’t know you weren’t into red roses.”
Lucinda caught his movement. The pink diamond bracelet was gorgeous. It was exactly her style.
Her expression softened a little. “It’s not that I don’t like roses. I just like pink ones.”
At that, Caspian’s whole face lit up. He nodded quickly. “Got it, Lucinda. I’ll remember. I hope you’ll like this pink diamond bracelet, at least.”
He tucked the red roses behind his back so she wouldn’t have to look at them and held out the bracelet, careful and hopeful.
In the sunlight, the pink diamonds sparkled, catching the light in a way that made them look even more stunning.
But honestly, Lucinda already had plenty of jewelry like this. Caspian’s gift was pretty, but that was all it was.
She didn’t say much, just took the bracelet with a calm expression. “Thanks.”
“I’m just glad you like it.”
Caspian felt his nerves creeping back in. He’d been crushing on Lucinda for years, always thinking he didn’t have a chance. Everyone knew she was supposed to marry the heir of the Jefferson family.
But then Connor blew it. He picked someone else, broke Lucinda’s heart, and suddenly Caspian had this chance. In a weird way, he almost felt like he owed Connor.
The mall they were in was basically the fanciest place in the city. Every floor was packed with luxury brands. Prices were insane. Even the cheapest hat would set you back at least ten grand, and designer bags could go for a million or more. Some of them even cost tens of millions. It was wild.
But she looked so unhappy, almost like she couldn’t stand it. He hesitated. “You… don’t like it anymore?”
Lucinda let out a cold laugh. “No. I really don’t. I can’t stand it!”
Caspian just stared at her. He couldn’t figure it out. She used to love that brand. What changed?
Lucinda didn’t feel like explaining, but she gave him something anyway. “I had a lot of LYLX stuff before, but their styles are old and boring. They never switch it up. I’m over it.”
Hearing her bother to explain, Caspian relaxed just a bit.
He mentally kicked himself. He was such an idiot. He always said he wanted to prove how much he cared, but he couldn’t even keep up with what she liked or hated.

thank u!...
thank u for the upload...
the next chapter is exciting...
the next upload is exciting. i cant wait....
Every chapter is missing a sentence from the end of every chapter. It’s frustrating to try guess what’s missing or said...
