Lydia just arched her eyebrows, unimpressed. “So basically, if I make it into the top three, you’re the one transferring schools or switching classes?”
That wasn’t what Silvia meant at all. She just really didn’t want to teach Lydia anymore.
“Yeah, right. Talk is cheap. Let’s see you actually pull it off first.”
Silvia honestly didn’t buy it. With Lydia’s attitude toward her studies, there was no way she’d land in the top three. The students in the monthly academic competition were all standouts from top schools. The competition was fierce. Silvia couldn’t even imagine Lydia breaking into the top three.
“Whatever. Can you leave now?” Lydia was clearly irritated.
Silvia was about to lose it. She forced herself to stay calm, giving Lydia a cold, sarcastic look. “Lydia, I did warn you. Even if you’re some kind of genius, if you don’t take your studies seriously, it’s easy to fall from the top.”
She’d already come all the way here in front of the whole class to get Lydia. If she couldn’t drag her back to the classroom, it’d be humiliating.
“When Ronald asked me to come to this school, he said I could set my own study schedule. If you don’t believe me, go ask him.”
Lydia really didn’t want to waste any more time arguing with Silvia. It was pointless.
Silvia had heard rumors about Lydia doing her own thing, but she never thought Lydia would actually be this bold. Skipping class, making her own rules… unbelievable.
“Fine, Lydia. I won’t bother you for the next month. But if you don’t get into the top three at the academic competition, don’t expect me to go easy on you, no matter what kind of teacher-student bond we have.”
Lydia shot back, “Since when did we have a teacher-student bond?”
As soon as she finished, the dorm door slammed shut.
Finally, some peace and quiet.
“Yeah, Sandy, I had no idea you knew so much. You have to help us out in the future,” another chimed in.
Lydia just raised an eyebrow at all the flattery.
She ignored them and headed straight for Fiona and Monica.
She caught the tail end of Sandy’s fake humble act. “Oh, I’m just a beginner. There’s no way I’ll make the top three. I’ll be happy if I break into the top ten. Besides, Daisy is representing the freshmen, and of course Lydia is super confident about getting into the top three.”
People noticed Lydia standing there behind them, and since she wasn’t someone you wanted to mess with, they all fell silent and quickly made themselves scarce.
In their eyes, Lydia was just someone who skipped class all day, probably napping in her dorm. The idea that she could make the top three? Total fantasy.

thank u!...

Every chapter is missing a sentence from the end of every chapter. It’s frustrating to try guess what’s missing or said...
