Ready to Rule: The Real Heiress Strikes Back novel Chapter 849

“She…”

Fiona and Monica were about to say something else, but Silvia cut them off. She turned to the whole class. “You review the new material for now. I'm going to see for myself what kind of illness Lydia has.”

Fiona and Monica exchanged worried glances.

“Professor, you don’t know which dorm she’s in. I can take you,” Fiona offered quickly.

Silvia didn’t even look at her. “I’ve got it.”

She tossed out the words, icy and final, then strode out of the classroom.

Fiona grabbed her phone and sent Lydia a message, warning her that Silvia was coming to the dorm.

But then she remembered Lydia was probably dead asleep and wouldn’t see a text. She tried calling instead.

Three calls. No answer.

Fiona and Monica looked at each other, helpless. All they could do was silently wish Lydia luck and hope Silvia wouldn’t make things too hard on her.

Up in the front row, Sandy didn’t show a hint of emotion, but as Silvia walked out, a tiny smirk tugged at the corners of her lips.

Lydia was in the middle of the best sleep she’d had all week when a loud bang jolted her awake. It sounded like someone had actually kicked the dorm door open.

She frowned, annoyed, and before she could even open her eyes, Silvia’s furious voice cut through the air. “Lydia! Get up!”

Lydia groaned and yanked the blanket over her head, refusing to pay Silvia any attention.

That only made Silvia angrier.

Did Lydia think she was invisible?

This was out of control.

“Lydia! Is that how you talk to me? So disrespectful. Do you really think I won’t do anything just because you’re the top scorer?”

Silvia’s voice shook with anger, and even her finger, pointing at Lydia, was trembling. She’d never met a student who was this hard to handle.

Lydia’s face was tight with frustration. “You do your job. How I study is up to me. I don’t need you in my business.”

She was exhausted. Was it really so much to ask for a little sleep?

Silvia actually let out a laugh, wide-eyed and disbelieving. “Oh? You don’t want me to manage you? Lydia, you think I want to?”

“Great. You don’t want to deal with me, I don’t want to deal with you. Let’s just stay out of each other’s way.”

Silvia stood there for a moment, breathing hard, trying to calm herself down. When she finally spoke, her voice was cold. “Fine. I’ll leave you alone. But you’d better finish in the top three in the monthly academic competition. If you don’t, you can switch classes or even transfer schools. Either way, I don’t want you in my class.”
